In 2019, at age 24, Alexis Browning was diagnosed with stage IV alveolar soft part sarcoma, a rare cancer with a very low survival rate. She enrolled in a clinical trial for an immune checkpoint inhibitor, atezolizumab, which received FDA approval in 2022. Her disease has remained stable, and she continues to receive the treatment.
