The One Where Shana Turns 50... 🎉

It all started when Mr. Randy (Shana's dad) called me to ask if I'd be available to photograph Shana's surprise birthday party. He knows just how much Shana loves photos — especially of her family and the people she holds dear.

Together, Mr. Randy, Mrs. Carolyn (Shana's mom), and Leeah (Shana's daughter) planned this 50th birthday surprise and kept it completely under wraps.

Now, everyone knows Shana is THE family planner — so pulling one over on her made the shock factor that much sweeter when she walked into the church!

Shana and her family have been one my biggest supporters since the day I picked up a camera. She first trusted me with her son's senior photos. Then last year, she trusted me again to photograph the late Mrs. Shirley Mills (Shana's mother-in-law) 91st birthday party at this very same place — Emmaus Baptist Church. That same year, she had me capture her son Jackson's cap & gown photos and wanted updated family portraits, too. Just recently, I made the trip down to their beautiful home in White Lake to take even more family photos at their happy place.

The moral of the story? Shana is one of the most beautiful, loving souls you'll ever meet. Her kindness and compassion radiate from her. She's selfless and God-loving. Friends and family showed up for Shana — and kept the secret right to the very end! She was TRULY shocked, and I was so grateful to capture her reaction along with the love every single person there felt for her.

I have been able to finally find some calendar availability between nursing school and my upcoming LPN graduate sessions. I am excited to announce my Premium Coastal Mini Sessions at Wrightsville Beach, NC!

Ending this year’s WCC ADN Class of 2026 portrait session with Tamira Bryant feels incredibly special. 🦬🩺💙

Tamira’s session was the perfect way to close out this chapter — filled with confidence, strength, and excitement for everything ahead. It’s inspiring to see the dedication it takes to make it through nursing school, and being trusted to document these milestones for so many future RNs has truly meant the world to me.

To the entire WCC ADN Class of 2026: thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. I’m so proud of each and every one of you, and I cannot wait to see the impact you’ll make in healthcare. Congratulations, Tamira, and congratulations to an incredible graduating class. I love you all! 🎓🩺

WCC Nursing is spotlighting our Associate Degree Nursing students as they prepare for graduation. These soon-to-be graduates have worked very hard and will make amazing nurses.

Today we are spotlighting Mona Eady-Dunlap.

Mona explains why she chose nursing, "I have wanted to become a nurse since I was a child. Even at a young age, I knew I had a strong desire to help people and make a difference in their lives. As I grew older, that feeling never changed and only grew stronger."

When asked who she wanted to thank, Mona said, "I am especially grateful for my husband and my mom, who have supported and encouraged me throughout this journey. Their belief in me has helped me stay motivated and continue pursuing my goal of becoming a nurse."

After graduation, Mona will be working at UNC Health Wayne in the Post-surgical unit. In addition, Mona is currently a part of ECU’s aRIBN program, where she is working toward earning her BSN. Mona's long-term goal is to continue her education and become a Nurse Practitioner.

Good luck in your career Mona. You will be an amazing nurse.

Getting the chance to celebrate Genna Rodriguez and photograph this exciting season of her life was such an honor! 🦬🩺 There’s something so rewarding about capturing the joy and relief that comes after years of hard work, sacrifices, clinicals, exams, and determination. Genna absolutely brought such an amazing energy to her session, and it made every moment behind the camera so much fun.

These WCC ADN graduation sessions continue to remind me why I love what I do. Not only do they preserve memories from such a major milestone, but they also help support the WCC Class of 2026 ADN Pinning Ceremony — making these portraits even more meaningful.

Celebrating Ambria Lane and her journey to becoming an RN was such a fun and meaningful session to photograph! 🦬🩺 Every nursing portrait session tells a different story, and Ambria’s session was filled with confidence, excitement, and the well-earned pride that comes from making it through one of the toughest journeys out there.

Being trusted to capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments for the WCC ADN Class of 2026 is something I never take for granted. I love that these sessions not only celebrate future nurses, but also help support the ADN Pinning Ceremony and the memories that will come with it.

My session with Laurie was such a special one to capture! 🦬🩺 From the moment we started shooting, you could truly see the excitement and pride that comes with reaching this milestone. Nursing school is no easy journey, and seeing another future RN cross the finish line is always inspiring.

I’m beyond thankful to have the opportunity to document these memories for the WCC ADN Class of 2026. Sessions like these not only celebrate an incredible accomplishment, but also help support the upcoming ADN Pinning Ceremony for the class.
