I’m 12 weeks into illustrating a new skate deck every week until a skate company hires me for a project 😉👀

This week I added a Timelapse since I had someone (another designer) try to tell me that all my art was AI generated…I guess that’s where we are now 🤦‍♂️

Proud to share the new identity for Simply Grace Recovery 🤍 A women-led recovery community that’s always been more than a place to stay. It’s a place to become.

The rebrand had to hold both: the structure and the grace, the accountability and the belonging. Navy for credibility, warm neutrals for the welcome, and a monogram that’s all about connection.

Nicole of reached out to me on IG a while back and we hit it off right away. Super rad human. Very talented designer.

She already had really good things going. She just wanted some help building her design business in a way that actually worked for her.
In the program she built out a full brand strategy and a gorgeous visual identity. Then we got into the systems that keep a business running... proposals, contracts, billing, all the unsexy non-design work nobody warns you about.

Finally she rebuilt her website to carry the new strategy and bad ass new visuals.

She is out here killing it now.

So stoked to watch it happen.

Maybe it’s my obsession with stickers, patches and stamps…but I love me a good badge. I feel like it’s one of the most useful lockups in a logo suite. And also as I made this content I realize that I need to experiment with some more shapes as I use circles a lot for this…but when it works for a brand, it works.

This is why it’s so important to build a complete logo suite for your brand so that you have this versatility.

I was asked about these tutorials and realized I hadn’t done one in a while. These are fun type tricks to use in everyday designs. Bonus tip: once you are happy with it drag it into your graphic styles panel to quickly use later.

Disclaimer: most of this I just noodle with and figure out so if you have a cooler/easier way to do it PLEASE let me know!

Can we all agree to stop the “fixing” logos trend on social? Or at least reframe it so you aren’t dumping on someone else’s work? They were in the trenches with the client…it’s pretty easy to play armchair quarterback and say what you would have done better.

Instead create a passion project that you can build the pretend budget, the scope and brief and build it with the same process you would a client project. Then you can show your strategy and your design chops without upsetting people.
