Two weeks later… and we’re still reflecting on an unforgettable experience. 🎬
As we look back on the second annual Powerhouse Summer Academy at Morehouse College, one thing is certain: this program was about so much more than filmmaking.
Over two incredible weeks, our students immersed themselves in the HBCU experience while developing skills in filmmaking, storytelling, content creation, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and leadership. They didn’t just learn how to create content, they learned how to tell meaningful stories, think like entrepreneurs, and lead with purpose.
From touring the Atlanta University Center, visiting the King Center and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s childhood home, experiencing iFLY Indoor Skydiving, and exploring Atlanta, to learning directly from industry leaders, filmmakers, executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators, every day expanded their vision of what is possible.
The academy concluded with a powerful student showcase, where each participant premiered an original documentary and shared a short-form reel that highlighted both their creativity and personal growth. Watching their confidence, professionalism, and storytelling abilities evolve over the course of the program was one of the greatest rewards.
To our students: continue creating, continue dreaming, and continue believing that your story matters.

The memories will last a lifetime, but more importantly, the lessons, relationships, and confidence our students gained will continue to shape their futures.
