THIS TEXT HIT DIFFERENT β€οΈ
Last night I received this message from someone who noticed my latest window painting at Be Well Michiana
And let me tell you π₯Ή I WAS PROUD
I woke up today with ALL the feels π₯°
Starting a new business (shoot, starting ANYTHING new) is exciting. Itβs fun. Itβs terrifying. Itβs exhilarating.
And sometimes those feelings can change FAST.
Uncertainty creeps in.
Self-doubt joins the party.
And suddenly, every criticism youβve ever received (or imagined) starts spinning around in your head.
That mental whirlpool can suck you down FAST.
P**F π¨
The inspiration disappears.
The motivation gets quiet.
The confidence takes a hit.
Suddenly, that dream you were so excited about yesterday starts looking kind of silly... and it starts feeling more like something you should just forget about.
Then a reminder like this text shows up!
This is my big, giant, heartfelt THANK YOU to every person who has supported this new endeavor and encouraged my dream instead of letting me quietly talk myself out of it. π
Thank you for...
π¨ Tagging me when someone is looking for mural or painting services
π¨ Following Stubborn Brush Co on Facebook and Instagram
π¨ Liking, sharing, commenting and interacting with my posts *THIS HELPS A TON*
π¨ Calling or messaging me just to tell me how much you enjoy my painting reels
π¨ Telling other business owners about me
π¨ Trusting me to bring your visions to life
π¨ Honking, waving, whistling and yelling as you drive by when you see me working on a project π
π¨ Supporting my dream of becoming a full-time professional artist
π¨ Sending me videos of artists, murals and projects that make you think, βSara should totally do this!β
π¨ Sending me information about painting events, mural opportunities and public art projects I can apply for
π¨ Helping me check things off my goals list
π¨ Taking pictures of my work, sharing them, tagging me, or reaching out to tell me you noticed my work!
π¨ Celebrating each milestone with me
π¨ And most importantly, reminding me that what Iβm creating has served its purpose - To add a little color and a LOT of joy to the world!
I am very intentional about celebrating myself.
I admire my own work.
I acknowledge how much my skills have grown.
I dance around the room when I land a new contract. ππ (no, really - I do. Even in public and I kind of dance like Elaine Benes so it's really... breathtaking)
And I try really hard to give myself the encouragement I need to stay focused and intentional.
But sometimes external validation like this hits different. The power of a community standing behind you is truly unmatched!
Knowing that someone saw something I painted and thought, βI need to tell Sara about this,β means far more than you probably realize π₯Ήβ€οΈπ
Every tag.
Every share.
Every referral.
Every commission.
Every encouraging message.
They all combine to quiet the critical voice in my mind.
They remind me that this business isn't just some pointless side quest.
I'm actually building it.
One brushstroke.
One window.
One mural.
One client.
One βYES!β at a time.
THANK YOU for the all of the ways you have supported Stubborn Brush Co ππ¨β¨οΈ
Youβre not just supporting my business.
Youβre helping me build a dream.
I am incredibly grateful and truly humbledπ
