Does your business REALLY need a website??
Maybe, maybe not...
It depends on the business, how you like to work, and your level of commitment.
Some people elect to "try out" a business before fully committing. Why bother going through the effort of creating a website if it's not something they will enjoy doing long term?
These businesses may never progress far enough to need a website.
Some people start doing work for friends and family who need what they've got, and it just sort of "turns into" a business.
Eventually they create a website to provide information to all the people asking questions about their services or products.
Other people create business cards, websites, and ALL THE THINGS, long before they've ever had their first customer because it's fun and they're so excited to be starting a business.
This totally used to be me! π€£
The BEST time to create a website is when you've already got a business that is bringing in money and you've got people who are asking questions about what you do or how they can buy your products.
I've had several different businesses over the years. I love creating websites so much that it's usually one of the first things I do. However, it's turned out to be wasted time, energy, and money in many cases. π€·ββοΈπ€ͺ
So this time...I waited. I did the work and created websites for people who needed them without even having a website of my own! Why? Because I didn't need one yet. People weren't asking questions and the business didn't have enough momentum.
But...I'm very happy to say that it's FINALLY time for my own website! I've got lots of clients and people who need my services asking questions about how I work, what I charge, and who I am. So now's the time! See the comments for a link to my brand new website.
