"good design is really is about “shaping emotional infrastructure"
In college I minored in a program that was the closest thing to studying the psychology of environment. It made sense to me, and I suppose because I was keenly aware of my own sensitivity to it, that what we're surrounded by, or near, would affect our state of mind.
On a wilder level, wouldn't it be interesting to see what studies would reveal about the influence of environment on the "flavor" of a culture? For example, say, what's the difference between an historic European city and a modern city?
