One of the most impressing environments we travelled to, to make this video about real Waste to Value. In Freetown, Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world a new technology is used to turn organic waste into value (energy and organic fertilizer). In Freetown, over 80% of the waste is organic. A containerized digester, called a Waste Transformer is placed next to a local hospital to feed them with clean energy. The natural fertilizer is used to restore the soil health of local farmers and less waste is dumped on landfills.
