Has anyone ever heard of The Fred Store 😉

If you haven’t, go on and check them out. All of us Gulf Shores and Orange Beach natives know Fred. He’s kind of the unofficial mascot if you will.

Check out the Fred hats, shirts and other merch. I’m dying to get my hands on some.

I thought it would be fitting to start our blog with something sweet.…

So on to Matt’s Ice cream shop in Gulf Shores we went. Matt's Homemade Alabama Ice Cream is a local stop near the beach on highway 59.

We were greeted by friendly staff, and a cheerful and bright atmosphere. Don’t even get me started on how many flavor options they had available. 😳 so. many. choices. All flavors are made in house too! I thought that was pretty neat.

I got the strawberry cheesecake flavor in a homemade waffle cone, and Harper chose the raspberry sorbet in a cup. We both enjoyed the sweet treat and atmosphere.

We each got one scoop and as you can see the single scoop was quite a lot of ice cream. The strawberry cheesecake had swirls of cheese cake and strawberry mixed into the ice cream. It was a true delight! The raspberry sorbet was both sweet and tangy.

We will definitely be back again one day soon hopefully. 🍦💖
