Here’s a problem we see all the time in service businesses:
“Just ask Mike. He knows how we do it.”
Mike knows how to schedule the job.
Mike knows which customer gets called back.
Mike knows what the tech needs to know before he pulls up.
Mike knows what happens after the job.
But what happens when Mike is off?
That’s where things start falling apart.
Technology doesn’t fix that.
You can buy the CRM.
You can add automation.
You can put AI on top of it.
But if nobody has written down how the job is supposed to move from A to B to C, you’re just making a messy process happen faster.
That’s why we say:
Operations Before Automation.
Capture → Hand Off → Follow Through → Document → Automate.
First, get the way you work out of people’s heads and into a process the whole team can follow.
Then let technology do the repetitive work.
Because your business shouldn’t stop working just because the one person who knows everything took the day off.
