A little sneak peek from Chelcy Mueller + Sean’s wedding dayyy! 🤍

It may have been a rainy Saturday at Lakewoods, but these two certainly didn’t let that stop them from having one hell of a wedding day.

Chelcy and Sean are two of the most fun-loving people, and it was pretty clear they’re surrounded by a crew that knows how to celebrate right alongside them. From a beautiful ceremony to plenty of laughs, a packed dance floor, and even a wh***ey + cigar session with the guys out on the island, there was no shortage of moments worth capturing.

Lakewoods is always such a beautiful place to photograph a wedding, rain or shine, and this one was no exception.

Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Mueller! 🥂🤍

Here’s just a little peek at their day while I keep working my way through the rest of their gallery. 📸🥰 Hope you're enjoying Puerto Rico! 🌴

A pretty cool first for fishing here in the Hayward Lakes area. 🎣

Yesterday, the 2026 Champions Tour Championship brought 25 anglers to Lac Courte Oreilles for the Tour’s first event held entirely on an inland Wisconsin fishery.

I spent the second half of the tournament on the water documenting the action, talking with anglers and watching some of them fish areas of LCO that I’ve spent plenty of time fishing myself.

But one of my favorite parts was hearing what visiting anglers had to say about our fisheries.

From the diversity of LCO to the smallmouth fishing on Grindstone and the sheer number of different fishing opportunities throughout the Hayward area, there was one pretty consistent theme: we have something special here.

I put together a full recap with some of those conversations, a look at the unique Champions Tour format, Harrison Nelson’s Championship win, Evan Blakely’s back-to-back Angler of the Year title and, most importantly, why this event was such a great showcase for fishing in the Hayward Lakes area.

Yesterday, the Champions Tour Championship came to Lac Courte Oreilles, and this one was pretty special for the Hayward Lakes area. 🎣

The 2026 Championship marked the first time the Champions Tour has held an event entirely on an inland Wisconsin fishery, bringing 25 qualifying anglers to LCO for the final event of their season.

Lac Courte Oreilles spans more than 5,000 acres and supports both a strong smallmouth and largemouth bass fishery, giving anglers a lot of different water and habitat to figure out throughout the day. Personally, one of the coolest parts of covering the tournament was getting out on the lake and watching competitors work areas that I’ve fished myself. It’s one thing to know these lakes from your own time on the water, and another to watch some incredibly talented tournament anglers break down those same places.

Hayward has a long history as a fishing destination, and while muskies may be what originally put our area on the map, bass, walleye, northern pike, panfish and so many other opportunities are a huge part of what makes fishing here what it is today.

From boats heading out in the morning to the final awards and celebration at the end of the day, it was a fun one to document from behind the camera.

Congratulations to the 2026 Champions Tour Champion and to all of the anglers who made their way to Lac Courte Oreilles for this year’s Championship, and Harrison for a heck of a win!

Pretty cool seeing one of our own Hayward area lakes become the mainstage for it.

Annie was my first Class of 2027 senior girl of the season, and we had such a fun evening!

Between the river, her convertible, and soaking up a perfect summer nights, it was such a great session.

Annie is such a sweet soul, and spending the evening with her and JoAn was an absolute joy.

Here’s a little peek into our evening together. ✨

Class of 2027, my late summer and fall calendar is filling up. If you’re ready to start planning your senior session, I’d love to chat!

🎓 Senior portrait season is here, and if you’ve been meaning to book your session, now’s the time! Once school starts, sports, jobs, and activities make calendars fill up in a hurry.

I had the best evening a few weeks back with Orion, his sweetie girlfriend, and his mom Sandie, for his senior session on the golf course. While it was absolutely scorching out, we lucked out with beautiful light, had nonstop laughs, and created photos that fit him perfectly. Sessions like this make my job pretty incredible!

If you’re still looking for senior photos, I’d love to help tell your story. Reach out soon before the back-to-school rush takes over! 🤍

I don’t think we ever stop growing if we’re willing to keep trying new things.

Last week, I had the chance to join my friend Julia (That Wisconsin Couple) sailing on Lake Superior for the very first time with All Hands Sailing in Bayfield. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of my favorite experiences of the summer!

One of the reasons I love writing these blogs is because I hope they encourage someone else to step outside their comfort zone, explore somewhere new, or finally book the adventure they’ve been putting off. If you’ve ever been curious about sailing, this is your sign.

I put together everything from the experience, including photos, what to expect, and why I think it’s worth adding to your Wisconsin bucket list.

I’d love for you to give it a read, and maybe it’ll inspire your next adventure! ⛵🌊

Every year, for one weekend, the world comes to Hayward for the Lumberjack World Championships.

To many spectators, it’s a chance to watch a sport unlike any other. But for the athletes standing on those docks, climbing springboards, swinging axes, and racing the clock, this weekend represents so much more.

It’s years of training condensed into a few short moments. Early mornings. Countless practices. Missed opportunities. Personal bests. Setbacks. Comebacks. Dreams that have been quietly carried long before anyone in the crowd knew their name.

Some will leave with world titles. Others won’t. But every competitor walks away with a story.

A story of perseverance. Of sacrifice. Of friendships built across countries and generations. Of a community that understands exactly what it takes to stand in that arena.

That’s what makes this weekend so special.

Behind every event is a person who has dedicated an incredible part of their life to a sport many people will never fully understand. Yet year after year, they continue to show up, not just to compete, but to carry on a tradition that means so much to so many.

It’s a privilege to witness those moments unfold, and an even greater honor to preserve a few of them.

Congratulations to every competitor who stepped into the arena this weekend. Thank you for sharing a piece of your story with all of us. ❤️
