There are so many places that have helped shape Hayward’s story. The Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame is one of them.

Growing up and living here, I can’t even count how many times I’ve visited the giant musky, wandered the grounds, or brought family and friends to experience one of Hayward’s most recognizable landmarks. For so many of us, it’s more than a museum. It’s a place that celebrates the fishing heritage, traditions, and stories that have made this community what it is today.

Fishing has always been a part of my life. It’s led me to incredible places, introduced me to lifelong friends, and eventually became part of my career. Supporting organizations that preserve and share that legacy feels important, especially in a community where fishing is woven into so much of our history and identity.

Places like the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame don’t continue for generations by accident. They thrive because people care enough to support them, visit them, volunteer, become members, and help ensure they’ll be here for the next generation of anglers, families, and visitors.

If the Hall of Fame has ever been part of your Hayward story, I encourage you to consider supporting them in whatever way you can.

As Hayward celebrates Musky Fest this week, I’m reminded that our fishing traditions didn’t happen overnight. They’re built on decades of stories, memories, conservation efforts, and places like the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame that help keep those traditions alive.

Here’s to preserving our history, celebrating our fishing heritage, and making sure places like this continue to inspire generations to come.

One of my favorite things about family sessions is getting a glimpse into what makes every family unique. For the Prochaskas, it was easy to see. Lake days, big hugs, happy kids, and a whole lot of love.

I had the opportunity to spend some time with them over Memorial Day weekend, and these photos are a reminder that the best family memories are often the simplest ones. Time together, a beautiful lake backdrop, and the people who matter most!

The best family photos happen when everyone forgets they’re taking family photos.

Kenadie and Caleb showed up for a mini session, but somewhere between chasing boys through the grass, giving shoulder rides, and convincing everyone to look in the same direction for three consecutive seconds (and promising ice cream) it stopped feeling like a photoshoot and more like a summer evening with friends.

The boys explored. Mom and dad laughed. The sun did its thing. And every time I thought we were taking a break, another photo opportunity appeared.

One week from today, the 2026 Hayward Musky Fest Queen's Scholarship Program Queen will be crowned. 👑

I had the privilege of photographing this year’s participants, Abby and Annie, and I couldn’t wait to share a few of these images.

Not only are they absolutely beautiful, but they are also two incredibly kind, poised, and impressive young women. Spending time with them during their sessions made me even more excited to see them represent our community during Musky Festival week.

A huge shoutout to Rachel at Polished Salon for the gorgeous hair and makeup. She did an amazing job helping each of these young women feel confident and shine in front of the camera. ✨

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to work alongside talented local businesses while celebrating the people who make our community so special. It’s an honor to play a small role in traditions like this.

Good luck, Abby and Annie! No matter what happens next week, you should both be incredibly proud of yourselves. ❤️

What a beautiful wedding day for Mikailah and Wyatt. 🤍 From the moment I met these two over the winter, it was obvious these two were meant for each other. Easygoing, kind, and the type of people who make everyone around them feel comfortable.

But what stood out most to me wasn’t just the love they have for each other. It was the love they have for their people.

Throughout the entire day, family and friends weren’t just guests. They were woven into every moment, every laugh, every tear, and every hug. I have told Mikailah that they remind me so much of myself and my family. The way she loves the people around her is something special, and it was reflected in every part of their wedding day.

It was one of those weddings that felt less like an event and more like a gathering of people who genuinely enjoy being together, and at an absolutely gorgeous venue!

Mikailah and Wyatt, thank you for trusting me to capture such an incredible day! Wishing you a lifetime of laughter, adventure, unwavering support, and the kind of love that only grows stronger with time. Congratulations! ❤️

One of the unexpected gifts of owning my business has been the people I’ve met along the way.

Last month, I had the opportunity to speak at Women Embracing Business (WEB) Hayward, a group of incredible women who come together each month to connect for lunch, support one another, and celebrate the businesses and leaders helping our community thrive!

As part of that event, I gave away a portrait session, and Salle Beckwith was the winner. Through photography, I’ve had the privilege of meeting entrepreneurs, community leaders, volunteers, and women who are making a difference every day, often behind the scenes and without much recognition! Salle is an outstanding community member, business owner, and has her hands in so many different organizations and workings in our community!

I’m grateful for organizations like WEB that create space for those connections and for the opportunity to help elevate the people and businesses that make the Hayward area such a special place to call home. ❤️

This is exactly the kind of work I love. Not because of the golf carts, trophies, or beautiful day on the course (although those don’t hurt 😉), but because of what the event represents.

The HFEE - Hayward Foundation for Educational Enrichment Golf Outing brings together businesses, volunteers, sponsors, and community members to invest in local students and classrooms.

As a photographer, I get a front-row seat to those stories. The laughter between teammates, the volunteers who make everything happen, the sponsors who show up year after year, and the people working behind the scenes to create opportunities for future generations.

Grateful for clients who are making a difference and for the opportunity to help tell their stories through photos.
