Your website says “message sent.” Did the message reach you?

Try your own contact form. Label the message clearly as a test, then look for it in the inbox you normally check.

If it isn't there, check spam. If it still hasn't arrived, note the page you used and when you sent it so whoever maintains your site has something specific to investigate.

Once you find the message, check the next step: who will read it and reply? If more than one person handles inquiries, make that responsibility clear.

A confirmation on the screen is useful. Following the message all the way to the person who will answer it gives you a much better check.

Have you tried the phone number on your own website?

Open the site on your phone, find the number, and tap it. If a call prompt appears, check that it shows the right business number. You can cancel without making the call.

A number can look correct on the page while the link behind it points somewhere else. Or it may just be text that a visitor has to copy and paste.

While you're there, check the number on your contact page and Google profile too.

If something doesn't match, you have a specific fix to ask for. If you have to hunt for the number, a customer probably does too.

Happy Labor Day to the people doing the work our communities depend on.

Keeping food on shelves, buildings safe, businesses open, and people cared for takes a lot of effort that often goes unnoticed. Thank you for the work you do.

If you’re off today, I hope you get to enjoy it. If you’re working, I hope you get some time for yourself soon.

Before you hire someone to build your website, pay attention to what they ask you.

Do they ask what you want the website to accomplish? How customers find you now? What makes someone choose your business? What happens after a person fills out your contact form?

Those answers should shape what gets built.

If you want more phone calls, calling should be easy. If you want better project inquiries, the website should explain your services and help people send you the details you need. There should also be a way to tell whether those things are happening.

At Baumbach Solutions, I want to understand how your business works before recommending what your website needs. Sometimes that means asking questions you weren’t expecting in a conversation about a website.

We also talk about what happens after launch. Who handles updates? Who helps when something breaks? What can we improve once we see how people use it?

You’re investing in something that should help your business. You deserve someone who takes the time to understand what that means for you and stays involved after the launch.

MEET THE OWNERS

Hi! Thanks for being here — we’re so glad you stopped by.

We’re the Treichels — Tyler and Katie — a husband-and-wife team based in Tomah, WI. We’ve got two little ones under 2, two dogs, and a life that’s always full (in the best way). When we’re not running the business, you’ll find us working, remodeling our home, juggling school, giving bath time duty a go 😆, or just trying to keep up with it all.

In the moments we do get to slow down, we love spending time with friends and family, traveling when we can, playing with our kids, and hitting the gym (well, Tyler does 🤣).

We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received as we’ve started and grown this business. Every like, comment, share, and word-of-mouth referral truly means more than you know — it’s what keeps us going and growing.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We’re excited for what’s ahead!

Some projects mean a little more.

We just launched a new website for the John Harrison Angel Fund in Sparta.

John Harrison started collecting donations on a street corner to help make sure local children had access to school meals. After his passing, his family and community continued that work in his name.

They’ve been making a difference for years. Now they have a dedicated place online where people can learn John’s story, understand the mission, and find ways to help.

I’m proud Baumbach Solutions had the opportunity to build it. I also want to help keep the work going, so for every new website build booked with Baumbach Solutions through September 30, I’ll donate $200 to the John Harrison Angel Fund.

Does your website still feel like your business?

A lot of small-business owners have a website, page, and Google profile that were built at different times. The information does not match, their best work is hard to find, the contact path is unclear, and sharing it feels awkward.

That is what the Online Presence Check is for.

Send me your business name along with your website, page, or Google profile. I will review what customers see and send back three practical things I would clean up first—what is already working, what may be confusing, and the next useful step.

No pressure. No generic report. Just a direct look at what would make your online presence easier to understand, trust, and share.

Start here:

Send your business name, website, Facebook, Google, or public profile links. Mike reviews the public path and sends back three practical improvements.
