Today I graduated from the Lead United program with the and !

Thank you Amanda Sito and Erica Brochu Deese for coming together to organize this incredible experience.

I learned about several issues in the Charleston area and what nonprofits are doing to lend a helping hand. From fundraising to access to broadband service, I was educated on the needs of the area and what is being done to fix these issues.

I want to thank all of our speakers who helped our class understand the fundamentals of being on a board and how to find an organization that is the right fit.

I am so inspired from Chloe Tonney and Bryan Derreberry closing speeches to use what I learned in this program and my talents to help nonprofits in the Charleston area. I can’t wait to give back to this supporting community!

What a great day at the 2022 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Conference!

Being in a room where everyone’s voice was heard was SO powerful. Thank you for inspiring all businesses in Charleston to take initiatives to start implementing Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion programs and discussing how us business owners can help!

I want to give a BIG thanks to all the speakers who shared their experiences and showed us the ways they are impacting their businesses and the community.

It was an honor to hear a good friend’s story! Pat Tang thank you for the opportunity to listen to your perspective and experience moving to Charleston.

We still have a lot of work to do, but it was eye opening to see what is already being implemented in Charleston. Continuing to have these discussions will only increase our efforts for inclusion.

Build A Brand: The Essentials!

Think about these essentials to help build your brand.
1. Value
Show your audience the value you bring to the table! What makes you different than anyone else? Everyone has their own favorite products, so what makes your brand unique?
2. Vision
Having a vision shows your audience that you have a plan to reach your goals and aspirations. How do you measure success?
3. Purpose
Your purpose is the reason you formed your business. Why did you start your business? Tell your story to your audience.
4. Target Market
Creating a target market will help you decide who your business or products cater to. It is important to have a marketing strategy that targets this audience, so you attract people who want to associate with your brand.
5. Visual Identity
Make sure your logo, colors, design, fonts, and language stay the same. You want your audience to immediately identify your content, products, and services at first glance.
6. Unique Selling Proposition
Your USP is the unique benefit exhibited by your business, product, or service. What attracts a customer to your brand and gets them to buy from you? Is it the quality of the item? Do you give them the best bang for their buck? Are you the only one who can get the job done?

Take the time to write out your responses when you are building your brand! This will help you in the long run. TRUST me! Knowing these answers are half the battle. Be as personable as possible to trigger the emotional response.

BIG Marketing Fail Southwest!

If you don’t know and Chase] sent out mailings to customers, who are 5 year or 10 year credit card holders, stating that they can receive a special card for their anniversary. Unfortunately the website they told members to pick out this said card, did not work! The mailer also indicated that they had to make their selection by April 15th.

Maybe all of us are just eager beavers 🦫
Is it not April yet, but this has already disheartened customers. Why would you send out a mailer when the website is not working? …oops

✨ Let this be a lesson for people who choose not to support small businesses. This would NEVER happen when you interact with small businesses. If there was an issue like this everyone would have gotten an email, phone call, or post/message on social media about it.

💳 Even big companies make MISTAKES! If you are just starting out or have been in business for years, mistakes will be made and it’s all about how you resolve them. What you do to fix the problem, will stay with your brand identity forever.

Struggling to brand your business?

{Save this post so you do NOT lose it!} 👇

Here are 3 Branding tips for businesses!

1. Find your brand voice
It is very important to have a brand voice that is unique and reflects your business. Think about these questions. Who are you? What do you provide? Why is that important? Why did you start your business?

2. Engage with your audience
Getting to know your followers is very important. You are building a relationship with each other, which in turn builds trust. Ask them questions, engage with their posts and get insight from them! Your next best selling product could come from a follower!

3. Create relatable content
Creating relatable content is a MUST! Does that mean creating the same things over and over again? No. When you are creating, filming, or editing content, make sure it relates to your target audience. If you are a service provider, create captions and reels that include information about your business and your WHY.
