So here’s your friendly mom nudge: school supplies are on sale right now, and if you forgot to order through the school, this is a great time to cross it off the list.

We know it’s only halfway through summer. We know the 4th of July just took everybody out. But this is one of those quick online-shopping tasks you can knock out in a few minutes and feel wildly productive about.

Confession time...

I have spent entire summers making sure my kids were properly sunscreened. I’ve bought it, packed it, applied it, reapplied it, and practically chased them around with the bottle.

Meanwhile, my own sun protection strategy has often been, "Well, my foundation has SPF in it, so I’m probably fine."

Apparently... that is not how that works.

After what feels like an endless stretch of rain, humidity... My Space City Weather app has informed me that the the sun is making a dramatic return. With extreme heat advisories in the next couple of days.
