Sunday reflection.

The business is not the point. The team you built is not the point. The money is definitely not the point.

The point is the hour you spend with someone who wouldn't exist without the work you did.

The client who stayed in business because you showed them how. The employee who started their own company because you gave them room to. The kid who watched you build it and learned that building is possible.

That's the ROI.

The best decision-making framework I've used in 35 years.

Three questions. In this order:

1. What's the cost of waiting a week?
2. What's the cost of deciding wrong?
3. What's the cost of deciding late?

For most decisions, the cost of waiting is higher than the cost of being wrong.

So decide.

Speed beats precision when the downside is recoverable. And most downsides are.

The decisions that kill businesses aren't the wrong ones. They're the ones that never got made.

Most businesses use AI to do more of what they already do. Nobody stops to ask if the thing should even exist.

Here's the question I ask every client.

1. What task is eating the most time this month?
2. What would happen if that task didn't exist next month?
3. If the answer is "nothing," stop doing it.
4. If the answer is "something," automate it.
5. Only hire after 1–4 are answered.

AI doesn't fix a broken process. It scales it faster.

Fix the process. Then scale it.

Not emails sent. Not meetings attended. Something that created revenue, reduced cost, or solved a real problem.
