I AM CHEERING FOR YOU!
What do you do when your back is up against a wall?
How do you respond when money is tight and you've got to make sales or bad things happen financially?
What goes through your mind when the pressure is on for you to perform and achieve results?
At first we tend to feel SCARED and WORRIED. These are normal emotions because we don't want the painful consequences that might come if we don't perform.
Next we might get ANGRY and UPSET. These too are normal because we get frustrated that we allowed ourselves to get into this situation in the first place. Again!
Next we might feel DEPRESSED and HOPELESS. We might question whether our goals, dreams and aspirations are worth fighting for and we start pondering other alternatives.
Finally we might turn a corner and become RECOMMITTED and DETERMINED to push and fight through the pressure and stress to achieve our goals. It is this final phase of emotions that is the most important one.
This is the one we must strive to reach when we feel overwhelmed and scared.
However, it’s perfectly fine and healthy to allow yourself to feel scared, angry and depressed when our backs are against the wall and the pressure is on to perform. It is OK!!!
However, what is NOT OK is to stay in that place. No good thing comes from staying in that place for longer than is necessary. We must continue to evolve our feelings and thoughts.
If you’re to succeed at achieving your desired outcome, than you need your mind and heart to be in a clear and committed place. Not a place born out of fear, but a place born from determination to win and achieve.
It’s critical that after the feelings of worry, hopelessness and being upset wear down that we get back to WHO and WHAT we are fighting for. We need to get to a place where we redouble our courage, commitment and confidence.
It is critical that we pick ourselves back up and get back on the horse. It’s critical that we keep charging forward with renewed focus, energy and determination.
What helps you get to this place in your mind and heart when your back is against the wall?
What brings peace to your heart and confidence and determination to your mind?
What helps you feel energized and enthusiastic?
Answer these questions for yourself and keep those practices, resources and habits close to you as you continue to climb the mountain.
I am cheering for you and you’re not alone! You got this. Go get to work.
