This year's theme, "Flow Forward: Securing Water Supply Through Innovation," brought water leaders, elected officials, and business and community stakeholders together at The Westin South Coast Plaza for a full day of conversations on supply reliability, policy innovation, and emerging technology.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We remember the 2,977 lives lost, the first responders who answered the call, and the families and communities who have carried their memory every day since.

Venture Strategic joined the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority's Business 2 Business Expo this morning. Jeff Corless, Katelyn Pohlman, and Chelsea Shay hosted our booth and met with agency staff, prime contractors, and small firms working across the Inland Empire's transportation program.

Projects of this scale depend on how clearly they are explained to the communities they serve. That is the work we know, and we came to meet the teams who need it.

Presentation week at Venture Strategic. 👏

Our summer interns each chose a communications topic, researched it, and presented their findings to the full team.

Michael looked at how young adults are changing their relationship with the news. Maia asked whether public opinion on AI points toward progress or decline. Oscar broke down what it takes to build a real social media presence.

🏆 Our 2026 Finest Award badge just arrived from the Health Care Communicators of Southern California.

The Gold in Multi-Media: Internal/External Video Programs went to our Executive Profile Video Series with CalOptima Health, a project that grew from a three-video pilot into a series introducing the 21 executives leading a health plan that serves more than 850,000 Orange County residents.

The Venture Strategic team was in the room for the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce's 2026 State of the County Luncheon at the Balboa Bay Resort. Orange County Supervisors Katrina Foley and Donald Wagner joined UC Irvine School of Social Ecology Dean Jon Gould to discuss the issues shaping the county's future.

President & CEO Jeff Corless, VP of Community Engagement Peter Dorsch, and Associate, Public Relations Katelyn Pohlman attended alongside our clients at Allen Matkins, Clay Lacy Aviation, and JSX, along with friends from The Capitol Group. Conversations like these keep our work grounded in what matters most to the communities we serve.

Venture Strategic President & CEO Jeff Corless joined VSI client Verizon, which graciously sponsored the Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation Taste of Hawaii at Paséa Hotel & Spa. The foundation supports first responders and wildfire victims, along with programs that promote education, leadership, and the empowerment of young people.

Several Los Angeles Angels were on hand to support the effort, including manager Kurt Suzuki, right fielder Jo Adell, and left fielder Wade Meckler.
