This year, 2026, marks a milestone for us. Our founder and creative leader, Dana Kelley, has come to work and sat at a desk in an office in downtown Jonesboro since calendars read April 1986.
Dana and other members of our team have seen this industry and many of our clients’ industries evolve dramatically over time. From the pathways we take to ideas, to how we communicate, and to how the work is executed, the pace of change has been intermittent, albeit ratcheted up in the recent years of this digital age. But change has always been a constant. Lingo, equipment, computers, etc.
For instance, an original 1984 Mac computer sits at the front desk of our office, with its mouse and keyboard and floppy discs it came with, for all of us to see as we come to work each day, utilizing modern MacBooks and iPhones. It’s our original office equipment circa 1986, as is our current conference room table and Dana’s brown leather Heritage briefcase he carried on his first day of work (used by Lee, his son, for several years before retiring it).
The preservation of those items shows that we appreciate the past—the knowledge and experience that it’s given us, and the lessons it’s taught us—but the mix of old and new in this office, and every office we’ve occupied, also signifies something we appreciate even more, summed up in the adage: “The only constant is change.”
It takes courage to start a business (especially on April Fools Day). It takes courage to change, too. And, after a certain number of years or events, there comes a time when a business has proven its ability to progress and adapt for its clients and customers. 40 years checks that box. Over the coming months, we’re going to be sharing work and stories across these past 40 years that show just how much our work has changed, and how our investment in people and equipment has had to change, too.
Forty April Fools Days later, we’re also celebrating things that never change. Passion for creativity and excellence. Commitment to results. The importance of chocolate and coffee. And this quote:
“Great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people.” - Steve Jobs (though he appreciates Jobs’ product evolution, Lee is no Steve Jobs, in talent or demeanor - *added by Lee*)
