Memorable branding.
Long term relationships.
No AI.

I’ve worked with Amanda Richards of Paper Crane Soaps since 2020 and together we’ve built a strong and memorable visual brand that works FOR her. She stands out amongst similar products and is complimented regularly on her packaging. Do you think packaging makes a difference?

“… 72% of buyers say packaging design influences purchase decisions. Brands with creative high-quality packaging often see stronger, customer engagement, brand recall, increased product sales.”

Let’s work together to make an impact.

From the onset, digital mockups are utilized to help clients visualize the final product. They can also help designers catch potential issues.

Was happy to work again with Kumukahi Health + Wellness last spring in preparation for the upcoming 10th Annual Rock the Red Ribbon Wellness Walk & Festival (Saturday, August 15).

As usual, the logo is full of meaning because around these parts, we don’t do just a pretty picture. What do you see in the logo?

TC Tile is up and running!

Not only was I able to provide them with this custom logo that reflects their business, resonates with our community, AND avoids use of trite elements, we worked together on a landing page and business cards as well.

From the client, “Thanks so much, Joey, this is perfect. We appreciate you so much! Out of all the people I’ve ever worked with on anything, it’s been a great pleasure, you are so professional and insightful.”

Thought I’d share this logo I did for our local jigsaw puzzle club. Yes, we have a local puzzle club.

Hawaii Puzzle Club connects (get it?) local puzzlers for social gathering and puzzle swapping. Even introverts like to get out of the house sometimes.

The logo connects two puzzle pieces to form an “HI” - the postal code for Hawaii, while also representing the activity and social connection.

I value local businesses, so it is really gutwrenching to see all the AI flyers out there. These flyers do not know how to engage an audience - they bombard the viewer with information without hierarchy and it’s just too overwhelming. They use the same details and it’s just so boring.

I get it. Budgets are tight. But honestly, I prefer a homemade flyer. At least I know there’s some personal effort behind it.

All the .ai ads plastered all over facebook really let me gut-wrenched.

Just so you know, your ad looks like everyone else's. How are we supposed to understand you as a business?

Great pleasure to work with on their new logo!

We see a lot of the Big Island’s shape in local logos, mostly as an add-on or simply as a border. It IS possible to use the shape in integrated and cohesive ways. In this logo, it just made sense; the flagstone tile forms the negative space which is the Big island, featuring both subject and locale in a simple a clear manner, without being boring or expected.
Depending on its color application, different looks occur: ocean (blue), white (stone), or black (lava rock).

Stay Able is a new Big Island nonprofit that is here to support our caregiver community. Sarah Riznyk, its founder, has a 30-year background of caregiving and nursing experience, from an Organ Procurement and Transplant Coordinator to Private Caregiver. She understands the struggle that caregivers experience when in comes to achieving life balance and self-care. With Stay Able, she aims to build a respite for our island caregivers, a safe community for mental recharging as well as support and continued education.

The logo is meant to reflect this safe space, a welcoming environment that is grounded in, and inspire by nature.
