This is definitely my bread + butterš.
Before I jumped into marketing full time. I was an interior designer, and while designing spaces, I learned how to market & advertise for the industry, so letās get into it. š«¶
1. Please stop using ChatGPT captions. ā
Donāt get me wrong, Iām not anti it. I think itās super beneficial in SO many ways but captions. That should be the easy part compared to editing a video for so long. You want your captions to sound like you and YOUR BRAND.. it can tend to start sounding repetitive and you start losing that personable feel. š¤
2. Your grid should be a representation of you and your craftsmanshipā”ļødonāt just show the pretty stuff. We love a good portfolio but people also want to see behind the scenes, before + afters, etc.
3. Donāt take hashtags for granted. š¤·š»āāļø when I first got into this side of the industry, I thought they were useless. UM NO. I was wrong. They lead you into much more exposure and attract a larger audience.
4. Trending audios. Use them! Pair it with a catchy video and I promise, your reel will look so much more appealing + youāre jumping on a trend. š¤«
5. Donāt be shy to get in front of the camera. š„“ I have some clients who love being in front of the camera that could seriously go on a HGTV show and who hate being the center of the attention. But. Itās building brand awareness, people want to see who they are working with, whoās transforming their space. Designing/building/remodeling, someoneās home or kitchen or whatever space youāre touching, itās personal. Itās an investment for them. Maybe theyāll come across a humor team video and get a good kick out of it and itās your next topic when you see them the next morning or theyāre seeing an educational reel and suddenly you get brownie points.
