**13-Year-Old BMX Racer Eli Staton to Compete in UCI World Championship**
Belton, MO - May 4, 2024 - Eli Staton, a 13-year-old BMX racer from Belton, Missouri, is the American favorite gearing up to compete in the UCI World BMX Championship (14 year old boy’s division) on May 14th in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This marks the first time the championship has been held in the United States since 2014.
Staton's BMX career has seen notable achievements, including winning the 2022 World Championship Title in the 12 Year Old Boys division in Nantes, France. Despite facing a crash last year during the main event, Staton managed to secure a 7th place finish in the global BMX competition held in Glasgow, Scotland. Additionally, Staton was the runner-up for the championship title in the 7 Year Old Boys class in 2014.
The seventh grade student holds past domestic victories such as the USABMX Grand National Champion and National Age Group Champion titles under his belt and is also recognized as one of the youngest racers ever named to USABMX's "Terrible Ten" program, which identifies promising talent within the sport.
As Staton prepares to represent both his national sponsors and the United States as a member of Team USA at the UCI World BMX Championship, fans and supporters eagerly anticipate his performance on the track. USABMX has a strong team in the 14 Year Old Boy’s Class and is highly anticipated to have several riders placing in the top 24 of the potential 180 event racers.
