MoxCar is bidding farewell to our fantastic summer PR intern, Lauren Lakamp! 👏🩵

Lauren has been a wonderful addition to our team, from drafting solid copy for news releases and social media posts and helping on-site at media events to bringing a positive, supportive attitude to everything she took on. We hope her time with us gave her valuable communication skills, hands-on experience and insight into the world of agency life.

Pilot Flying J's EV fast-charging network has surpassed 300 locations with 1,300 fast-charging stalls across 40 states, marking a major milestone in expanding convenient, reliable EV travel across the United States. The network, a collaborative partnership with General Motors and EVgo Inc., now spans approximately 75% of the contiguous United States, covering more than 2.2 million square miles and connecting drivers to destinations across the country.

For East Tennesseans, that means you can drive your EV to Asheville, Nashville, Columbia, Charleston, Lexington, Cincinnati, Detroit, Atlanta, Tampa and more – and never be more than 150 miles away from a charging station.

What a great annual Shoes for School event this past Saturday! The need was so much greater this year, and the Knoxville Area Urban League delivered, providing 1,800+ pairs of shoes, 2,500+ backpacks and school supplies to more than 3,300 children. 🎒👟

Our team worked closely with media sponsor WBIR Channel 10, its leadership and reporters, KAUL CEO Dr. Laurie Shanderson and the entire team to coordinate media interviews and coverage leading up to and throughout the event. From the 10AboutTown podcast and in-studio segments to live coverage from Covenant Health Park gearing up for and at the event, WBIR helped shine a spotlight on this incredible community effort.📺📣

The impact of Shoes for School goes far beyond back-to-school basics. When students are prepared for school, they have a greater sense of stability and confidence. DGA Residential is partnering with Knoxville's Community Development Corporation to breathe new life into a former hospital building in North Knoxville, transforming the historic structure into apartments designed to serve seniors. The plan also includes construction of a multi-family apartment building with 109 units, 21 townhomes, a dog park and a playground.

Tennessee Theatre has a packed calendar of events to get out of the heat and close out the last days of summer ☀️

🎭This weekend, Broadway is back in Knoxville with “& Juliet” taking the Tennessee Theatre stage Aug. 4-9 with seven shows – and last-minute tickets are available!

📽️Summer Movie Magic presented by FirstBank features Disney’s “The Parent Trap” on Sunday, Aug .16, at 2 p.m. and “Legally Blonde” on Sunday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m.

🍿On Saturday, Aug. 15, at 9 a.m., the East Tennessee Historical Society and the Knox County Public Library are bringing back the East Tennessee History Fair. This free curated event brings a variety of celebrations to downtown, including live music, square dancing, crafts and children’s activities.

🎸"1964: The Tribute" brings the iconic sights and sounds of The Beatles to the stage on Friday, Aug. 21, at 8 p.m.
