Today was a powerful reminder of why being in the room matters.
Rebecca began the day at the The City of Indio - Government’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Miles Avenue Park, where the community gathered to honor the lives lost, recognize the service of our first responders and unveil Indio’s new permanent 9/11 memorial.
From there, she attended the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual All Valley Mayors, County and Tribal Chairpersons Luncheon at the Renaissance Esmeralda in Indian Wells—with her mom by her side.
Listening to leaders from across the Coachella Valley speak about their communities, their challenges and their hopes for the future was a reminder of how fortunate we are to live in a valley with such a rich history and so many people who genuinely care about what comes next.
The afternoon brought Rebecca back to the Coachella Valley History Museum for a very special tour. A gentleman she had connected with through her outreach work brought his 93-year-old grandmother, who had been part of the team that helped create the museum in its earliest days. She wasn’t just visiting a museum—she was returning to a place whose history she helped build.
The day ended with planning for the Centennial celebration of the Smiley-Tyler House, built in 1926. In four more years, the City of Indio will celebrate its own 100th anniversary.
History, leadership, relationships and the future of our valley—all connected in one very full day.
And speaking of what comes next, RIZZO Strategic Solutions is excited to partner with the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce on The Morning Exchange, a business education breakfast series beginning September 22.
It will be another opportunity to bring people into the room to learn, connect and build stronger relationships across our valley.
Because relationships really do come before transactions—and meaningful growth begins when we show up for one another.
