Believe it or not I have lived in Las Vegas for 21 years and have only been to the sign a few times, usually when friends come into town to visit. It's such an iconic landmark.
Why is the Las Vegas sign famous?
Did you know....
The sign was built by a woman named Betty Willis, as per the request of a local salesperson named Ted Rogich. Rogich applauded the neon signs of the city that advertised the hotels, casinos and restaurants, and felt that there should be such a sign to represent the city itself.
I think it represents Las Vegas perfectly 🥰
