The Ten E-Comm Commandments

Rule Nombre Uno: Never sell low ticket products

With ad costs rising year-by-year it doesn't make sense to sell low ticket products anymore.

Number two: Don't turn off profitable ads.

Even if the returns are not that high. You can always A/B test new ads side by side with your old ones.

Number three: Always use post-purchase upsells.

This one is huge. Why not leverage your existing customers as much as possible?

Number 4: Don't put all your eggs into one basket

Meaning... Don't just rely on one sales channel. Especially not Facebook with all of the recent bans and restrictions.

Number 5: Don't underestimate your email marketing and abandoned cart sequences.

Number 6: Never run your own ads as an e-comm business owner.

Why? Well, even if you do manage to make your ads profitable you'll end up in a self-made prison thinking you're the only person who can do it right.

I know an 8-figure e-comm business owner who still runs his own Facebook ads and thinks no one else can do it right except for him.

Imagine... you worked all these years just to spend 12 hours a day inside of your ads manager.

7: Always use UTM parameters for tracking. Clarity on what works best is 🔑.

Number 8: Don't forget UGC (User Generated Content). People don't like to be "sold" to.

Number 9: Keep your profit margins high if you plan to succeed. 😉

Number 10: Always be testing new creatives to stay ahead of the curve. Ad fatigue kicks in now faster than ever.

Follow these rules if you plan to crush it in 2022. If not, expect 0 sales when you wake up. :)

Today, I spoke with an 8 figure per year e-commerce business owner.

I was shocked. I couldn't believe what he said to me.

He STILL runs their Facebook ads. By HIMSELF.

Insane.

This is often what happens to e-commerce businesses owners who get into their head too much.

Over-analysis = paralysis.

Yes, maybe you indeed are the best Facebook advertiser out there.

But don't you think that by focusing on other aspects of your business, you'd be able to get much better long-term results?

It's a fake feeling of progress.

User-Generated Content.

It builds social proof, brand credibility, and authenticity.

Even though UGC sounds awesome, most brands don't know where to start with it.

They think they should just wait for a "magical product review" from some super popular influencer who just happens to love their product.

But, in reality, it doesn't work that way.

You have to be proactive about it.

You have to use services like Billo.

Send free products to influencers.

Pay super niched influencers to promote your products...

"Rent" their audiences for ads, etc.

You HAVE to be proactive about it.

Otherwise, it won't come.

And you'll just miss out on this amazing wave of super potent creatives that you can use for your ads.

Most e-commerce businesses are just starting to notice this trend.

Use it to your advantage! It's insanely profitable.

Scaling an e-commerce business is not just about increasing your ad spend.

Or testing new creatives.

Or diversifying your ad spend across different sales channels (Facebook, Google, Pinterest, etc.)

When scaling you also have to keep in mind things like customer satisfaction at scale...

Customer support speed and quality.

Shipping speed and costs.

Proper staffing, etc.

You have to scale ALL aspects of your business and not just one.

Because if you don't, things will very quickly start to fall apart.

And rather than taking one step back to take two steps forward...

You'll be taking two steps back just to later come back to the same spot where you're at right now.
