Now that the country is opening, restaurant and bar owners no longer have the built in excuse that the country is shut down, and this is why my restaurant and bar is struggling.
It’s important that you understand yhst coming out of the pandemic, everything has changed, and its up to you to find out how to make sure your restaurant or bar doesn’t become a casualty of this pandemic.
Here are 3 things that you should consider as the country opens up?
Target Demographic: The pandemic has caused us to retool our database. Many of your regulars have moved back to their hometown, lost their jobs and do not possess the means to frequent your establishment and some may not agree with your political beliefs.
This means you have to understand that you kay have a new customer, and its imperative that you understand how to speak to them.
Operational Procedures: Covid has forced operators to think outside the box in order to stay open. If you can stay open minded in your operating style, it will benefit you as the country reopens. Finding ways to adapt will keep you ahead of the curve.
Competition: Be aware that your competitors maybe changing even if the establishment is still operating. Many hospitality groups have taken this unfortunate time and either sold their assets or took advantage of their lack of debt and purchased businesses that when able to operate have a good business.
Thoroughly examine new competition in the marketplace and keep an eye on those who you have went up against for years, it could be a different animal.
