👨‍👩‍👦❤️‍🩹🏠 “Without knowing anyone in California, I relocated here from Miami, Florida, with nothing but an expired Florida ID, $40, and a desperate need for help to get established.

211 led me to ECTLC, and looking back, I can confidently say that without them, I would have become just another statistic—either in California’s homeless census or its prison system. In Florida, I had experienced incarceration, but I had never been part of a program like this before.

ECTLC gave me the chance to pause, reflect, and rebuild. I was surrounded by teachers, pastors, life coaches, and people who had walked a similar path—many of whom had advanced degrees in counseling, master’s, and even doctorates. Their guidance provided me with a strong foundation, deepened my relationship with God, and gave me a clearer outlook on life.

Thanks to ECTLC, I now have a California ID, a Social Security card, a birth certificate, health insurance, friends, and family. Most importantly, I have new desires, new goals, and a future filled with hope.” - Tyrone
