If you are wondering why the ISP's are tightening up their spam filters, here is a pretty good answer.

According to Talos Intelligence, 85.18 percent of email sent was considered spam.

If you want to make it into the inbox, you must adapt to the new way of doing things.

I’ve had 3 new client referrals this week to help them with their email deliverability (Lansing in the inbox).

Nine if the three were properly authenticating emails and 2 of the three were not using business email addresses.

Two key takeaways.

1. Do not send marketing emails from a [email protected] address. If your marketing you need to have a business domain.

2. You MUST PROPERLY AUTHENTICATE YOUR EMAIL.

Gmail, yahoo, aol and hotmail in the last week have all adjusted their algorithms that determine where your emails land.

You have to be in your game now to land in the inbox no matter what email service you use.

Email Deliverability is a science and unfortunately, the majority of business owners think that their ESP (Email Provider) handles everything when it comes to delivering emails.

Unfortunately, this is only partially true. List Hygiene, Engagement Tracking, Email Authentication, Domain Reputation Management and Content are all up to YOU!

I was working on a clients list today and they had 106 spam traps, and another 2150 bad email addresses limiting their ability to get their emails into the primary inbox.

Email Deliverability Update:

Email deliverability truly is a science. Unfortunately, many businesses out there that are using email are missing some fundamental pieces in their email authentication, specifically DMARC usage.

If you do anything more advanced with email than hitting "Send" in Gmail then you should care about deliverability, which is the likelihood that your email will end up in your intended recipient's inbox instead of their spam folder.

Over the last few months I have looked at over 1000 business domains email authentication configuration and what I can tell you is that 91% of the businesses I looked into are not authentication their email sending properly.
