This is the system flow chart for getting paid clients!!

Awareness is getting seen on Instagram and introduced to your business.

Engagement happens with YOU and your business. Like all comments, provide valuable infromation, show them what you do and why you do it.

Contact is when the follower reaches out to you. Perhaps with a question through a DM or an email. And/or they visit your website to find out more. (This is where having opt-in emails and freebies on your site do you GOOOOOOD)

Action is when they sign up for your email, grab that freebie, or get a free consultation.

Conversion-YOU DID IT! You made some money... Let's do it again!

FUN FACT: A great conversion rate is 3%. If you have 100 visitors to your website, that's 3 people who sign up for your service or buy your product.

I'm looking forward to 2021. How about you?

Now is the time to create a kick-a$$ Instagram strategy for next year.

Here are my TOP 10 TIPS for you to start planning:

1. Start by defining your audience
-check out my post on defining your avatar

2. Set your goals
-Do you want to sell a product, show yourself as an expert, get new leads, create brand awareness?

3. Make your Instagram attractive
-update your profile picture, edit your bio, check that all links work

4. Make a calendar
-Get a 2021 calendar and write down EVERY celebration and holiday, then start adding important business dates, and from there, start adding ideas of what you'd like to post starting with January and moving down through the year.

5. Write mindful copy
-All content should do one of three things, tell a story, provide knowledge or be sharable. Consider these points when brainstorming and writing for your posts.

6. Do your hashtag research.
-use hashtags that are relevant and specific to your niche

7. Post at the right times
-look at your analytics and post when your followers are online.

8. Take advantage of Stories and Reels and IGTV
-plan your yearly content filled with weekly videos. (see my other post on how to create 5 videos out of one)

9. Run an Instagram Ad
-the best way to get your content seen and in front of new potential clients is to run an ad

10. Experiment
-Try something new. An Instagram shop? Go live? Use an Influencer?

Time to be grateful!!! But first, I have a question. What have you missed the most from all the disruption that 2020 created?
•
For me, without a doubt, it was live music. It feeds my soul, connects me with others, and is how I best let go of my stress, worries, troubles, and doubts. It's my favorite form of meditation and therapy.
•
I missed a dozen concerts, live music in local venues, and big festivals. Plus, it's was a habit to play the recently attended music in the mornings when I start my day or to have as my background music while I work. I MISS THAT!
•
That said, I am beyond grateful for all the artists that made great music this year, shared it in creative new ways and kept me fueled with positive energy. I also LOVED finding covers of great songs done in new and original ways.
•
If you're wondering what I listen to DM me. And if you want to hear/see a favorite I listened to a dozen or more times. Go to YouTube and search "Still Woozy Tame Impala Cover"

Your Bio on Instagram is valuable real estate. Make it count. Here are the BEST tips for a great IG Bio

1-Have an easy to remember handle. And it needs to relate to your brand. We live In a world of short attention spans. Make it easy on your potential clients by creating something easy and related to your business.

2-Better yet-have it personalized with your name.

3-Your Bio needs to explain what you or your product/company do. Keep it clear and simple. Expect people to not know who you are or what you do. Then tell them clearly with as little words as possible.

4-You only have 150 characters so use your words wisely. This may take some editing but I believe in you!!!

5-Be real. Be authentic. (Never a truer trending statement)

6-Your image should coordinate with you and your brand. It just confuses people when it doesn't.

7-Links need to be provide for contact information. There's a bunch of third party apps that provide multiple link clicks like LinkTree or CampSite. Use them. It's so convenient for your followers to only have to click once.

8-Give a Call To Action. Growing up we all hated when adults told us what to do. But now adulting has most of us begging to be told what we need to do to survive. Spoil them.

Every post should provide one of these three things to your followers

1-Connection. Build trust by storytelling. Explain how you got from there to here in your own business. Share something that was difficult for you but that you overcame. Or even (when appropriate) share something that you are currently struggling with... Connection is key.

2-Knowledge. Educate with tips, guides, and whatever you do to provide help with your customers pain point.

3-Something to share. Everyone likes a good quote, and lists, infographics, and charts. And they want to tell (or tag) their friends when they see something worth sharing.

Lots of businesses on social media are afraid of posting things that aren't perfect. Every image and every word have to be just right to post...

Guess what? That's not true!! Quality is important. Staying aligned with your brand is important. But regular and real posts are consistently the posts that get the most engagement. So give yourself a break and don't stress about it.

Then give your followers a little something instead of a whole lot of nothing

ps. I first heard this saying in 7th grade when my friend didn't want to break up with his girlfriend right before a dance or else he'd have no one to dance with.... (still laughing decades later) • But the saying stuck with me in regards to always try new things instead of having nothing by not trying. It's interesting how tiny conversation can impact you so much...

We all know Twitters limit but these numbers are important too
•
The one to pay close attention to is the Instagram Bio limit. For Businesses, this is PRIME REAL ESTATE. It's your IG sales page! Is yours looking good? Take a peek and ask yourself if it needs an update?
•
What message to you want to share with your prospective clients and audience? What is your voice? These things need to be clear and precise when you only have 150 characters.
