“How you doing?”
“I’m good.”
That’s one of the most common lies told every day.
Not because people want to lie—but because it’s easier than explaining pain, stress, pressure, or everything they’re carrying. Sometimes folks don’t even know how to put it into words… so they just say “I’m good” and keep it moving.
I’ve seen it with my own people.
I’ve done it myself.
Smiling on the outside, dealing with something heavy on the inside.
That’s why a quick “you good?” isn’t always enough.
Check on your people for real.
Have the conversation.
Pay attention to energy, not just words.
Because sometimes the strongest ones, the funniest ones, the ones who “always good”… be the ones going through the most.
And if somebody does open up to you—listen. Not to respond, not to judge… just to understand.
We all fighting battles nobody can see.
Be the reason somebody doesn’t feel like they gotta fight theirs alone.
