When was the last time you checked your website on your phone?

Not a screenshot. On your actual phone, scrolling through it like a visitor would.

More than half of your visitors are on mobile. And most websites that look great on desktop have at least one thing that's broken, cramped, or just plain weird on a small screen.

Text that's too small. Buttons that are hard to tap. Images that are cut off or stretched.

Pull up your site right now. Check your homepage, your services page, your contact form.

If something looks off, that's your next fix - not a new font, not a new color palette.

Mobile experience is a ranking factor AND a trust factor. Both matter.

If your email opt-in says "sign up for updates and news" - that's why it's not converting.

Nobody wants updates. Nobody wakes up thinking "I really hope someone sends me a newsletter today."

They want something specific. Something useful. Something that solves a problem they have right now.

"Get my free checklist" converts. "Join my weekly tips for solopreneurs" converts. "Download the free guide" converts.

The difference between an opt-in that sits there ignored and one that actually builds your list is almost always the offer. Make it specific. Make it valuable. Make it obvious what they're getting.

Let's talk about lead magnets, because if you've been seeing that term everywhere and nodding along without fully knowing what it means, this one's for you.

A lead magnet is a free resource you give someone in exchange for their email address.

A checklist. A guide. A template. A mini training. A quiz. A free chapter. Anything that's genuinely useful and can be delivered instantly.

The idea is simple: your ideal client wants something, you give it to them for free, they give you their email address, and now you have a direct line to them that doesn't depend on an algorithm.

Social media is great. I love it. But.....

You don't own your Instagram following. You don't own your page. If the platform goes down, changes its algorithm, or decides to tank your reach - your audience goes with it.

Your email list? That's yours. Nobody can take it away.

When someone gives you their email address they're saying "yes, I want to hear from you." That's a completely different level of trust than a follow.

And when you send an email, it lands directly in their inbox - no algorithm deciding whether 3% of your audience sees it.

If you've been putting off building your list because it feels like one more thing - April is a great time to change that. We're going to talk about this a lot this month.

Stay tuned.

Here's the blogging advice nobody wants to hear: done beats perfect every single time.

The post you agonized over for two weeks? It's probably not performing any better than the one you knocked out in an afternoon.

Your audience isn't grading your writing. They're looking for something useful, relatable, or helpful. That's it.

The blogs that build audiences are consistent ones - not flawless ones.

So if you've got a half-finished post sitting in your drafts right now, that's your sign. Close the tab with the blank page, open the draft, and just finish it.

Imperfect and published beats perfect and invisible.

Your website has about 3 seconds to tell a visitor they're in the right place.

If your hero section is a beautiful photo with a vague tagline and no clear next step - those 3 seconds are gone.

Your hero needs to do three things fast: say who you help, what you do, and what they should do next. That's it.

"Helping women live their best life" is not enough. "Web design for female entrepreneurs who are ready to stop DIY-ing it" is better.

Be specific. Be obvious. Make the button impossible to miss.

Pretty doesn't convert. Clear does.

Launching your website is the exciting part. What comes after? That's where most small business owners get stuck.

WordPress needs regular updates to stay secure. Plugins conflict. Themes need maintenance. Backups need to happen before something breaks, not after.

Most people ignore all of this until something goes wrong. By then it's usually a $1,000+ emergency instead of a $25/month habit.

A website care plan is the thing that keeps your site fast, secure, and ready to book clients while you focus on literally everything else.

You're spending way too long in Canva and your graphics still don't look the way you pictured them.

The problem isn't your creativity, it's that nobody showed you the right way to use the tools.

This beginner-friendly PDF, Canva Quickstart Guide, covers fonts, colors, photos, exports, and the pro features most people miss - so you can create polished graphics without outsourcing or the overwhelm.

You tried using AI to write your content and ended up with something that sounds nothing like you.

Generic.
Stiff.
Copy-paste-y.

AI is a powerful tool, but only if you know how to use it without losing your voice.

Comment norobot and I'll send you the link to my blog post that shows exactly how to use AI as a co-writer, not a replacement, so your content still sounds like you.

53% of mobile users leave a site that takes longer than 3 seconds to load.

Your clients aren't sitting at a desktop waiting patiently. They're checking you out between school pickups, Zoom calls, and late-night scroll sessions. If your site lags, they move on. Probably to someone with a slightly faster site.

One lost booking a week at $300 is $15K a year. Not because your offer wasn't right. Because your homepage took too long to show up.

The fix is simpler than you think — link in bio.
