It’s launch day for Terri Sings! 🎙️✨

When Terri Azie Music reached out to me for web design, she said she wanted a fresh site that really showcased her original music and made it easy to connect with her for performances and vocal lessons. As I was working on the initial site design and determining our creative direction, I quickly zeroed in on a recording industry review about her music:

“Terri Azie makes the kind of music that feels lived-in rather than manufactured.”

This is what inspired the blend of modern edge and nostalgia you’ll see on her site — scrapbook-style photos from her earliest gigs sprinkled around, a stunning music video to welcome visitors to the site, punchy and moody blues for a cool vibe, and textured backgrounds and paper elements that bring warmth and approachability.

It was such an honor to support Terri with her site…and did I mention that in addition to her music career, she’s also a public school teacher?! I’m a former elementary teacher myself, so you already know how it makes me feel to partner with another educator in my design work 🫶

🎧 P.S. Don’t forget to swing back around in November to listen to her new single, “Charm Bracelet”

Fall foliage, a long weekend, and a few fonts to match the vibe 🍂 This little collection was inspired by our family getaway to the Autumn Glory Festival in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.

A cozy, inviting brand never goes out of season (or style!), and choosing the perfect font sets the tone from the beginning.

So…there are JUST a few minor details you should know about me before we meet up:

👀👉🏻 I will notice/take pictures of all brand fonts + illustrations wherever I go. It’s good inspo! I can’t help it!!

🥐💛 Breads & pastries are always a yes, so let’s skip the chit-chat and just order multiples to share, deal?

🐢🥤 Love the turtles, very much in support of bettering the environment, absolutely dislike a soggy paper straw melting into my crispy Coke 😂

Confession: I’m a web and brand designer and yes, I think AI is a great tool!

“So Paige, are you saying people should just use AI to build their graphics/brands/websites?”

Hmm, not quite.

✅ I 100000% believe in the VALUE that handcrafted design brings to a business — otherwise, I wouldn’t do what I do!! 🤍

🤔 But…I don’t believe that completely knocking down the use of this tool is the best way to initiate conversations around design.

I have no issues admitting that AI absolutely plays a role in my studio: helping me to streamline workflows, generate super-cool mockups, or trim down run-on sentences (I’ve been guilty of those since 5th grade).

The most important thing when it comes to my use of AI as a business owner is that it doesn’t take over my craft or authentic voice.

It’s all a balance, and I think we’re all just out here trying to figure it out!

As a designer (+ former elementary teacher! 🍎) it’s important that I hand clients a style guide that doesn’t just look beautiful…but ACTUALLY educates and makes sense!

I love getting to walk through these details at the end of a project and answer any client questions about “how” or “when” to use certain brand elements.

Showcasing a fresh new look for Books For Change 📚✨

Books For Change is a group of educators turning gently-used book sales into real action: funding organizations on the front lines of gun reform to keep students, staff, and communities safe.

As a former elementary teacher, the Books For Change mission is incredibly close to my heart. And getting to build this brand and website for my friend Courtney (BFC founder + the gal with the vision) made it even more meaningful!

When we were chatting about her creative direction, Courtney shared that she wanted something confidently feminine, artful, and inviting.

This brand definitely breaks from the mold of a traditional nonprofit design. ✌🏻

Just like your favorite bookstore, booksforchange.co feels warm, welcoming, and worth lingering in. 🤍

“From the very start, she took the time to really understand my brand, and it showed. She nailed my vision almost immediately, which honestly blew me away.” — the kindest words from Kaitlin Myers | Orange County Interior Designer 💕

Solidifying your brand’s Creative Direction is always the first step in my design process, so before Adobe Illustrator even pops up on my screen, we’re spending time:

- Working through your detailed questionnaire on our kick-off call (which is so much fun! 🎉)

- Curating visual descriptors to guide the branding process

- Crafting a unique and beautiful moodboard

- Hand-selecting fonts that are true to your vision and vibe

Last week you guys totally made me blush with the comments over my office setup, and that reminded me...I need to water those houseplants in the background! 🌱

So I grabbed my watering can and got to work keeping my cozy, cottagecore vision alive (quite literally, lol).
