Identify who they know that you want to be referred to BEFORE you ask for an introduction. The referrer has to want to help the FRIEND THAT THEY'RE REFERRING, not you.

I received an email from BNI regarding bringing a Substitute and thought I'd share:

Benefits:
• Develop substitutes who are already familiar with the BNI meeting.
• Identifies a list of candidates who can represent you at the Chapter in your absence.

Success Steps:
• Bring a satisfied client.
• Bring a co-worker.
• Bring a vendor.
• Develop a list of at least five substitute candidates.
