A supervisor can face legal trouble if they fail to address or take appropriate action when made aware of coworker harassment, as employers have a legal duty to prevent and address such behavior.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Employer Liability:
Employers can be held liable for workplace harassment, including harassment by coworkers, if they knew or should have known about the harassment and failed to take prompt and appropriate corrective action.
Supervisor's Role:
Supervisors have a responsibility to address and prevent harassment, and their inaction can lead to the employer being held liable.
Duty to Prevent and Correct:
Employers have a legal duty to create and maintain a workplace free from harassment, and this includes taking steps to prevent and correct such behavior.
Examples of Liability:
If a supervisor is aware of harassment and does nothing, or if the harassment is severe or pervasive, the employer can face legal consequences.
What to Do:
If you are experiencing harassment, it's important to report it to your supervisor or HR department, and to document the incidents.
Legal Protections:
Federal and state laws protect employees from discrimination and harassment, and you have the right to a workplace free from such behavior.
EEOC:
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces discrimination and harassment laws, and you can file a complaint with them if you believe your rights have been violated.
CIVIL RIGHTS!!!

In a few short years, lawlessness has increased so dramatically that people can now escape punishment for the most heinous crimes and even “get away with murder.” What is the result? The most basic sin of man, lawlessness, is pervading every part of society, and true justice—having consequences for good or bad behavior—is considered tyranny. When President Donald Trump’s administration came in and said there would be boundaries, walls at the U.S. borders, and crime would be punished “to the fullest extent of the law,” they were called “worse than Hitler.” The very foundations of social order have been turned upside down. Now, good is called evil, and evil is called good, just as Isaiah prophesied (see Isaiah 5).

This madness—lawlessness—has overplayed its hand in America, and the majority of the people seeing its fruit have begun to push back against it. The reaction of the lawless to this return to law and order has been for them to throw even bigger tantrums. This madness is increasing in those who hold onto the lie. We have yet to see how this comes out in our country, because the battle is far from over. We must study deeper both the roots and the fruit to understand, and therefore stand against, this ultimate evil that is manifesting in our time.

If you've encountered any kind injustice and unfairness in the workplace on your behalf, no matter what it is, report the problem to your local state department of labor, your local human affairs commission or human relations commission, the police department, your local courthouse, the U.S. department of justice - Civil rights division, your state department of justice civil rights division, the Federal Government, and the U.S. Employee Equal Opportunity Commission both national and local.

By law you have the right to blow the whistle on your place of employment if you've encountered any kind of discrimination or any kind of injustice no matter what it is. For example, if another co-worker or more than one co-worker starts an altercation with you and if you report it, but the situation somehow backfires on you. You don't hafta take that kind of bull crap.

Again, report it IMMEDIATELY to your local police department, your local courthouse, your state department of labor, your local human affairs commission or human relations commission, the U.S. department of justice civil rights division, your state department of justice civil rights division, the Federal Government, and the U.S. Employee Equal Opportunity Commission (national and local).

Civil rights definition and meaning:

Civil and political rights are a class of rights that protect individuals' freedom from infringement by governments, social organizations, and private individuals. They ensure one's entitlement to participate in the civil and political life of society and the state.

Civil rights generally include ensuring peoples' physical and mental integrity, life, and safety, protection from discrimination, the right to privacy, the freedom of thought, speech, religion, press, assembly, and movement.

Political rights include natural justice (procedural fairness) in law, such as the rights of the accused, including the right to a fair trial; due process; the right to seek redress or a legal remedy; and rights of participation in civil society and politics such as freedom of association, the right to assemble, the right to petition, the right of self-defense, and the right to vote. These rights also must follow the legal norm as in they must have the force of law and fit into the system of administrative justice. A key feature in modern society is that the more a state can guarantee political rights of citizens the better the states relations are with its citizens.[1]

Civil and political rights form the original and main part of international human rights.[2] They comprise the first portion of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (with economic, social, and cultural rights comprising the second portion). The theory of three generations of human rights considers this group of rights to be "first-generation rights", and the theory of negative and positive rights considers them to be generally negative rights.
