The world has been up and down lately and small businesses have been riding the roller coaster along with everyone else. If you want to grow your business, it is important to keep your head when all about you are losing theirs. One thing remains the same -- the importance of staying in touch with our clients and customers. If you have a page, are you good about posting regularly? I haven't been, but I'm pledging to myself to do better. Do you update your website regularly? Do you have an e-newsletter or a paper newsletter to stay in touch? Summertime is almost upon us and we have a lot of hot weather occurring here in Colorado already. It is hard to stay in work mode when the shade under the trees beckons. Should you give in? It is really important to take a bit of time off every day for yourself! Building a business (or two) is difficult and time consuming -- we can feel guilty if we aren't actively working to make the business better or bigger. Taking time for ourselves gives us the space to re-energize and let our creativity grow. Without some peace and stillness, we can't stay centered and creative. Take some time today to breathe and recharge your batteries. Your creativity will begin to flow and you will be more productive in all you do!

Good information on many of the current scams to avoid on Facebook. Keep your facebook feed scam free! Have you any other scams that you can add to this list to avoid?

I've been very bad about posting news for Cybernation. It is so easy to find fun and meaningful things to post about our dog training business, Canine Frontier. Why is it difficult to find something for a more traditional business? Maybe because we take our small businesses too seriously. A little fun in running our businesses is a good thing. If we find the fun in our businesses we will find ourselves being inspired and may find new ways to help our clients enjoy their own businesses. Don't store up your special nuggets of wisdom and fun -- share them with your customers and clients. Are you sharing your fun with your clients?

When we are working so hard to get our businesses going, sometimes it is hard to take the time to keep in touch with our friends, whether they are business friends or lifelong buddies. Don't forget to make time for them to let them know that you are thinking of them. Drop a line to someone you haven't talked to in awhile today and share a smile! :)

Starting your own business is very difficult. Trying to balance the time you need to work with the time you need to market and, oh yes, trying to work in some time for yourself that is non-work time. We may feel guilty when we are not actively working on making our businesses more successful. Remember that your mental and spiritual well being are just as important as your work. Without taking time for yourself, your creative juices may dry up and your work will suffer. Prime yourself to succeed by giving yourself time to relax, unwind and enjoy a sunset now and then. You will find that you have given yourself a jumpstart that will make working much more productive. Do you take time for yourself?
