An idea Greg’s had for years is finally becoming real. 🎲

We’re building a strategic trick-taking card game that will bring out everyone’s competitive side.

It’s still in the testing and tweaking phase, but getting friends around the table to beta test has been one of the best parts.

That golden hour glow 🌅

Despite the name, golden hour isn’t always a full hour. Depending on the time of year and how close you are to the equator, that dreamy warm light can last anywhere from just a few minutes to over an hour.

In Southern California, summer evenings (or sunrise sessions) usually have the longest golden hour, sometimes lasting around 45 minutes with the most dramatic light in the final 10–20 minutes. The light changes FAST and a few minutes can completely change the feel of a photo. It takes a little planning, but it’s always worth it for that soft sun-kissed look.

And when everything lines up? Magic ✨

There are many libraries of free fonts—Google, Adobe (if you have a subscription), Fontshare, Font Squirrel, and DaFont. But with that comes the endless scroll and the same fonts showing up everywhere.

We’re building a library that is intentional and curated with fonts we love and actually want to use. Like a DJ with crates of rare vinyl and classics—pulling what they trust, not just what’s trending.

Today’s feature is Diane Script Premiére. Originally designed as Diane by Roger Excoffon in 1956 and later revived by Mark Simonson. The original didn’t even include an ampersand, so the ones added here feel like a bonus.

We’d be lying if we said we didn’t care if you looked at our posts or not. We do. 😅

When it’s just us, heads down, nose to the monitor, meeting deadlines, sending emails, and making posts like these — it can feel a little disconnected from the world. When a post lands, even a little, it means more than whatever the algorithm says.

We appreciate every time you stop to scroll through a carousel, watch a video to the end, and take the time to engage. We read every comment , even when it’s just one. 😂

We appreciate it more than you probably realize.

As illustrators, we’re trained to notice details in everyday things. While researching yuzu, we realized those details had to be emphasized. 🍋

At first glance, it looks like a lemon, but up close its bumpy skin, many seeds, and unique two-part leaves set it apart. We knew we had to incorporate these distinctive features into the illustration.

Now we’re thinking of a fruit series. What should we draw next? 🍒🍑🍐🍇

That satisfying feeling seeing your work at full scale. 😌 What we love about this project is that ‘s Clean and Safe team carries the same branding across their trucks, GEM vehicles, trash cans, and carts. It’s a cohesive visual system that becomes recognizable the more you see it throughout downtown.

Large format work like this is some of our favorite work to do—the design has to hold up at any size and angle. It’s a fun problem to solve.

Have you spotted any of these yet? 👀

I’ve been illustrating and designing for as long as I can remember.✏️🎨 I created my first logo in first grade for my outdoor exploration group, Adventure Club and designed many more while growing up. Choosing graphic design was easy, but finding work was difficult while living in a rural town 30 miles outside of Milwaukee.

I landed my first design job when I moved to Los Angeles. Since then, I have worked in many roles, including Printing Management Associates, a fast paced, demanding environment. I took on more responsibilities outside of design and began better understanding how a business operates. I realized Candice and I were capable of running our own agency, and Punch Creations was born. The pressure, speed, and demands of my previous in-house roles shaped who I am as a designer, and the connections made gave us the confidence to go all in.

Many thanks to those who have believed in us, and supported us then and now. We appreciate you!
