Alex Walterspiel is a Partner and Head of Trading at Paradigm, having joined Paradigm in October 2023 as Head of Trading and Partner. A trader for over twenty years, Alex was previously a Partner and Head of Trading at Indaba Capital Management for over 11 years. A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Finance and a former All-American football player, Alex has held a variety of trading and analyst positions at MIG LLC, Glacier Asset Management, Watershed Asset Management and Thomas Weisel Partners.

Alex's investment trading team has consistently outperformed market benchmarks in the traditional financial sector managing multi-billion dollar equity, fixed income and derivatives portfolios. It also plays a key role in analyzing market trends and identifying profitable trading opportunities in equities, fixed income and alternatives and in the development of proprietary trading systems and models.
He also began leading his team in the cryptocurrency space in 2013, and over the course of more than a decade has made a variety of investments across the board, from early stage mining of cryptocurrencies, angel rounds of investments in centralized versus decentralized exchanges, as well as investments in market making and liquidity enhancement of Decentralized Finance (Defi) platforms, the NFT circuit, and crypto wallets, and has been involved in a variety of investments through the integration of leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and emerging torrents and other leading cryptocurrencies to diversify its portfolio. Its excellence in both risk management and strategic trading decisions has been recognized by both institutional and sophisticated investors.
