My latest Art Show Small Green Door 2018. We chose "Rude Vail" for the name with the intention of only letting a couple people see the art up close. Creating a rood vail effect, something we see with liturgic styles of worship. There is a veil that separates the church building in 2, and only the priest can cross it, into the altar. As someone that has worked for the church, I can attest that it is beautiful to be at the altar. The design has so much richness and history. It symbolizes being the closest to God, the Divine, Source. It is sometimes elevated, so you are higher than the congregation. There, of course, are another group of people that can occasionally enter. Usually, those are the donors. We also thought about how the mechanisms of the art world also tend to bend for the donors as well. I have a patreon, www.patreon.com/thisischaco and I thought why don't we set up the gallery space with a vail, where only a selected few could enter. Creating the effect of a scared space. That's a long story just for the name...
In terms of the art, my intention behind the art is that it be a tool of positivity. I am studying to be an Energy Medicine Practitioner right now, and I wanted to create something that would be a form of medicine. I am learning how shamans can also be an artist. Usually, their art is connected to the shamanic work they are doing, and are simply seen as other ways of understanding spiritual concepts. As I begin to develop my own spiritual concepts, this is a way of downloading that information energetically. These are kind of Abstract Infographics. They're the cliff notes of my studies. They are meant to be Energetic Medicine, and I have filled them with pure positivity and light.
These are tools for power, creativity, and freedom.
