New logo design...The event planning is starting now in Pasadena for Route 66's 100th anniversary in 2026, which happens to also be the 150th anniversary of Colorado Blvd. This work was sponsored by the Hub for Urban Initiatives. Route 66 was a very big deal in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, officially dropped from the US Highway system in 1985. Sections of it are still very much in use across the country, and celebrations are being planned all over for 2026. Of course Colorado Blvd is famous worldwide because of the Rose Parade, and the section you see on TV is also where Route 66 passes through Pasadena. Party on, Pasadena!

When the new school year starts, we update the graphics on our Windward School Wall of Champions. This year, new athlete images as well as the past year's athletic achievements. Kudos to the Richard Willis and his team of vinyl installers from Creative Graphic Services in Santa Clarita, removing and artfully rewrapping these hot metal panels during a heat wave!

Now that it has fulfilled its beautiful purpose and has become a framed artifact, thought I’d share the creation of Mia and Daniel’s Chuppah that I gifted them. It was an honor to participate in their union in this way! Mia asked for 4 trees from her home to be represented.
