Los Angeles-based Karen Kimmel Studio was founded in 2007 by artist, designer, and consultant, Karen Kimmel. KKI offers a variety of creative consulting, marketing, branding and design services for a wide range of private and corporate clients including Splendid, Nike, Target, Ella Moss and Cole Haan. The Studio is also home to Crafting Community, which exists both as an annual family retreat, and

as a promotional event series in partnership with select brands. Karen Kimmel also produces a line of artistic tools and bespoke items called Kimmel Kids, designed to stimulate creative thinking and empower children to make their mark.

When you meet people who inspire you, learn from them.
That’s exactly what happened when I met and experienced her incredible . I followed up immediately to ask if she’d be interested in collaborating on something I’ve dreamed of for a long time: seed packets.

Priscilla gathered her coveted seeds, and I began drawing to capture their spirit. Together we created the Pollinator Seed Project—a suite of hand-folded, individually colored, printed seed packets.

Meet the Sweet Pea: a deep pink perennial that blooms July–September. No perfume, beloved by pollinators, growing up to 10 feet high and 4 feet wide. Once established, it returns every year. And the cut flowers? Pure magic in the house.

Like most of the baskets I make, they start off with a rough idea of a form and usually end up different with some reference back to the initial idea. This one was a magic trick, no real path just a make and respond exercise. Kinda gourd with a side of cornucopia, didn't see it coming. One of the best parts of making...surprising yourself.
