YOUR HUSBAND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO IMAGINE WHAT HIS WIFE LOOKS LIKE.
Ladies, let’s talk about something many married couples don’t discuss openly enough: physical attraction in marriage.
Your husband is your husband. He is attracted to you. He enjoys seeing you, admiring you, touching you, and experiencing intimacy with you.
So why are some women completely comfortable being physically expressive with their husbands only when the lights are off?
Some women will wear oversized clothes from morning till night, cover themselves completely, rush to put on a wrapper whenever their husband enters the room, and insist that intimacy must happen in darkness.
My sister, this is your husband. Relax.
You don’t have to be ashamed of your body in the presence of the man you married.
Let him see you in your nightwear. Walk around in something that makes you feel beautiful. Be playful. Be affectionate. Allow him to admire you.
You don’t have to turn every moment into a sexual encounter either. Sometimes, simply being comfortable and confident around your husband can strengthen attraction and intimacy.
And please, don’t spend all your energy trying to hide every part of yourself from your husband while expecting him to remain completely unaffected by what he sees elsewhere.
Intimacy in marriage should be cultivated, not neglected.
Of course, every woman has her own comfort level. If you genuinely prefer the lights off, that’s okay. If you’re not confident about your body, that’s something you can gradually work through. Your body does not have to look like Instagram before you can feel desirable.
But don’t let shame, insecurity, or unnecessary modesty create distance between you and your husband.
Your husband should experience your beauty from you, not merely admire beauty everywhere else while his own wife is constantly hiding hers.
Be comfortable in your body.
Be playful with your husband.
Dress attractively for him sometimes.
Let him compliment you.
Let him know that you desire him too.
And remember: marriage is not only about companionship and responsibility. Romance, attraction, affection and sexual intimacy matter too.
So, my married sister…
Stop hiding from your own husband.
Give him the privilege of enjoying his wife.
Your body isn’t something you need to be ashamed of in the presence of the man you’ve chosen to share your life and intimacy with.
