LGH is a boutique marketing and strategy firm based in Redding (far Northern California). A relatively new company (we began in January of 2011), LGH has had

the opportunity of working with several county and civic organizations in the Northern California region. Founded under the guiding principle that Marketing Without Strategy is Meaningless, our goal is to work with individuals, businesses and organizations who can appreciate the need of a comprehensive strategy for their marketing efforts. Noting our guiding philosophy, we seek to settle the increasingly common misunderstanding that a design on a business card, or a new logo are not to be considered “marketing.”

Through our community affiliations and organizations, we have had the great opportunity of working with companies and organizations of all sizes. Much of our work has been done with government and civic organizations, as well as nonprofit organizations and school districts. We pride ourselves in developing professional, mutually beneficial relationships with our clients. Part of our strategy process includes in-depth conversations to thoroughly understand our client, stakeholders, decision makers, processes and philosophy. And it’s our job to get you the results you want. In learning about your company, we can then detect your short- and long-term goals. For a number of years now, and especially with the introduction of RankBrain a few years back, the need for positive social signals is paramount top increasing the reach of your content.

To really be effective with this, you'll need to be strategic about social activity. There are plenty of hacks (like the appealing headline above encourages you to click the "read More, which helps this post show up higher and for more people 😁 ).

Or have you noticed sometimes the link is placed in the comments...? That's because you want people to View the comments (another positive signal) and when the link is clicked, more of your ideal audience will see this valuable post.

Unfortunately, most businesses are afraid to link out to other relevant and authoritative websites. They fear that doing so will make the visitor leave and never come back.

This is a myopic approach. If your website is already providing good value, then nobody will be compelled to leave. Further, when you link to other relevant websites, you are increasing your own site's relevance.
