As a teen, I went to Little Tokyo weekly for Girl Scouts & participated in the Nisei Week celebrations. Over the years, the community has evolved and blossomed. I am grateful to have been invited to Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE) & Little Tokyo Business Association’s Business Summit.
The marketing panel I participated in focused on how we can leverage tech tools & marketing strategies to uplift local businesses.
We learned from Roberto Martinez, Braven Agency, that businesses and community members should collaborate and cross-promote to leverage each other’s audiences. He shares the importance of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for websites.
Margaret Palanca shared the impact of businesses using Yelp in their marketing approach. Many people (me included) often “study” a local restaurant or shop before stepping foot.
Patty Ross of Golden State Marketing amplified the tools available today - AI (Artificial Intelligence) is available at businesses’ disposal. Choose wisely and help it help you.
I share the different B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) approaches. For instance, leveraging LinkedIn for B2B, whether it’s organic or paid approaches - consider telling your story in 3 major phases: awareness, consideration, and conversion. For B2C (both audiences, really), focus on your audience. Serve your people, listen to them, and adjust accordingly.
