Being my bohemian, free spirited self in the little Sahara desert ✨🐘

It's important to spend time alone in your own energy so that you can truly get to know who you are.

What do you like?
What do you dislike?
What brings you joy?

These are all questions I've been asking myself lately. I have had a tendency of losing myself in other people. Sometimes I focus too much on other people that I forget who I am. I used to make myself wrong for feeling guilty when someone would call me selfish. I was trained to sacrifice myself for the people I love. That was what love was to me. So to show people I loved them, I would sacrifice myself to the point of burn out and resentment, and that isn't fulfilling for me or my loved ones who have to deal with my sadness and anger as a result.

Now I am learning what it means to be ME, to overflow my own cup with my own fuel. When you take the time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve or truly love from an empty vessel ❤️
