๐ 90โs BABY, NEW CREATION ๐
I can look back at different versions of myself and laugh because whewww... some eras had me in a CHOKEHOLD. ๐
The clothes changed.
The music changed.
The trends changed.
The things I thought were cool changed.
But one thing Iโm learning is that following YAHUAH doesnโt mean I suddenly have to become a beige, personality-less version of myself. ๐
He corrects me.
He cleans things out of me.
He teaches me discernment.
He shows me what needs to stay and what needs to GO.
But He also created me with personality.
I can love bright colors, glitter, butterflies, funky clothes, 90s nostalgia, and a little baddie energy ๐ while still understanding that none of those things get to sit on the throne of my heart.
That belongs to YAHUAH.
And THAT is the difference.
The world says, โBe whoever you want to be.โ
Scripture teaches me to ask, โYAHUAH, who did YOU create me to be?โ
Those are two very different journeys.
Because sometimes transformation isn't YAHUAH turning you into somebody else.
Sometimes it's Him removing everything that was never really you in the first place.
โAnd be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...โ
Romans 12:2
So yes...
Still colorful. ๐
Still a little extra. โจ
Still a 90โs baby. ๐
Still probably choosing the glitter option. ๐
But learning every day to say:
YAHUAH, if it doesn't honor You, correct me.
If it distracts me from You, remove it.
If it's simply part of the personality You gave me, teach me to enjoy it without making it an idol.
I don't want the world deciding who I am.
I want my Creator reminding me who I was created to be. ๐
