Stopped at Georges Roast Beef & Pizza in Lynn for a quick Jr Beef. I’ve been living in downtown Lynn for 6 years. George’s has always been a reliable spot, open late, decent food. The beef was ok. Since the new owners taken over, they have been working on their beef. Andy Ferg stopped by a couple months back and was saying good stuff about it. Then I seen a few others saying it and even my buddy Lou who lives out here has been telling me. Enough was enough, I had to try it for myself.

The beef came out and surprised me big time. Very good looking beef. I prefer a potato roll over the brioche but it doesn’t make or break for me. The beef was really good. Fresh, pink, warm, toasty bun, sliced thin, rare. I’m in trouble with this thing being a 5 minutes walk from my building. It’s nice to have a good beef in Lynn now! Hell ya! I give it an 8.1. Come try it for yourself soon.

For more than six decades, 103-year-old Irvin Koch has been pouring drinks for customers out of the basement of his home in Pasadena, Maryland.

By many accounts, Irv is indeed the world’s oldest bartender. His dive bar, legally zoned for commercial use, is a time capsule tucked away from the rest of the world above. There, the drinks are cheap, the lights are dim and the jukebox is usually on.
