☕️ Nothing beats the "Sunny Side Up" energy at the Prince William Chamber of Commerce West End Leadshare!

Beyond the bonus eggs from our fearless leader, Leigh-Anne Vaughn (thank you!), I always walk away with some serious nuggets of inspiration. From the big celebrations to the honest "trials and chuckles" in between, these Thursday morning sessions are the perfect mid-week reset. No "eggs-aggeration" intended; so very grateful for the connections and the laughs.

Today was long, but this peaceful moment watching this fellow on our milkweed blooms was a much needed reminder. To the world, the yellow swallowtail is a symbol of joy and good fortune; but to the butterfly, it’s the result of a total transformation.

Sometimes those "long days" are the seasons where we’re doing the quiet work of growing.

A seat left empty, a debt we can never fully repay.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer. It is a time of remembrance for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

"Just one hour with a student can last a lifetime" --Christine Taylor, MCPS CTE

A wealth of knowledge was shared during the 'Building the Workforce of Today and Tomorrow' panel at the City of Manassas Business Appreciation Breakfast; if you haven't had a conversation with your local school about workforce development, I highly encourage starting the conversation.

I've had a lot of fun, and have learned a lot, by visiting the classroom, attending career fairs, having a student shadow, listening to both teachers and students, and working with the CTE program at the state level.

It definitely fills your cup ☺️

💙 Took a much needed brain break this morning to trade my mouse for a packing station at Boxes of Basics.

Sometimes the best way to get unstuck is to stop focusing on your own "big picture" and focus on the community "big picture". I spent time hand selecting a seasonal wardrobe for a local girl who needs some extra love (and some cute outfits!). If you can score a volunteer slot (they go FAST) I highly recommend it!

There’s something incredibly grounding about folding clothes and filling a box that you know is going to make a child feel confident, warm, and seen.
