2025, by the numbers.

This year was about pressure-testing how we work, where we add the most value, and what kind of structure actually supports good creative output.

Every number represents real systems built, relationships earned, and work delivered inside real constraints. Not hypotheticals. Not passion projects. Real-world conditions.

This year clarified what we're best at, where we do my strongest work, and what kind of environments we thrive in.

That clarity is something we're taking forward.

Are you ready to pivot your brand in 2026? Let's set it in motion.

Behind every rebrand is a moment of truth.

For me, it was realizing that the work I was doing no longer matched the name on the door. Over the last few years, I’ve helped businesses—small, corporate, and technical—navigate their own pivot points. Bringing in an outside designer is its own form of change. It’s a shift in direction. A decision to grow with intention.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I needed to make the same move.

That’s why I created Pivvot Branding.

The name reflects the work: helping teams find clarity, focus their message, and build design systems that scale. And yes—the double-V is intentional. It represents the pivot point built right into the brand.

This wasn’t a reset. It was alignment.

My original URL will stay as my personal portfolio. But Pivvot Branding is the studio moving forward.

As we close out 2025, we’ve been thinking less about “big wins” and more about the work itself. The variety, the trust, and the problems clients handed us and said, “Can you make this make sense?”

Here are 12 projects that stuck with us this year, not because they were flashy, but because they were thoughtful, collaborative, and genuinely useful.

• Several illustrated project maps for Puget Sound Energy

• Menu banners for Happy Lemon Covington

• Leaf-shaped business cards for Wendee Jane Designs that were just plain fun (and totally on brand)

• A clean, strategic capability statement for Concourse Cloud

• Brand identity work for Connect the Hops

• A complete, quick-turn media kit for Air Pro Solutions

• A white-labeled RFP for Flying Crow Creative, built to feel seamless and confident

• Brand development for Real Axis Engineering

• A full suite of PowerPoint templates for Shimmick Corporation

• Marketing materials for Quick & Clear, in collaboration with Vibrant Marketing & Design

• A complete rebrand for Sorted: Professional Financial Services

• And one of the most complex internal projects I’ve ever done: an internal HR career path manual for Shimmick Corporation, spanning departments, roles, and long-term growth paths

Looking at this list, I’m reminded that good design isn’t about one type of deliverable. It’s about clarity. Structure. Making information usable. And meeting people where they are, whether that’s a utility, a contractor, a small business owner, or an internal team.

Grateful for the clients who trusted me with their work this year, and for the reminder that even in a challenging year, the projects themselves can still be deeply meaningful.

So excited to finally share this one.

Culumber Services has officially rebranded as Sorted: Professional Financial Services, and I had the privilege of partnering with their team on this evolution.

This wasn’t just a name change or a new look. It was about aligning their brand with who they’ve grown into and the kind of support they provide to small businesses across Seattle and the Puget Sound: clear, thoughtful, and grounded in real partnership.

Bookkeeping is still part of what they do. Helping clients make confident, values-aligned business decisions is the bigger picture. This rebrand brings that story forward in a much clearer way.

Huge congrats to the Sorted team on this next chapter. I’m grateful to have been part of it and excited to see where they go from here.

Check out their announcement below and give them some love.

After going through my own rebrand, I realized something: most businesses wait too long to pivot.

There’s always a moment where you can feel the gap between who you are now and what your brand says on the outside. When that gap gets wide enough, you're not building momentum—you’re working against your own identity.

If you’re not sure whether it’s time to update your brand, here are a few signs:

☑ Your services or industry have shifted.
☑ Clients don’t fully understand what you do or think too small.
☑ Your brand feels inconsistent or outdated compared to your actual work.
☑ Your messaging doesn’t reflect your expertise or approach.
☑ You feel boxed in by your name, visuals, or original positioning.

You’ve outgrown the DIY branding that made sense early on.

I hit several of these at once. That’s when it became clear that “Clements Design” no longer matched the studio I was running.

Pivvot Branding is the result of recognizing that gap and choosing to realign.

If any of these signs feel familiar, it might be time to explore your own pivot. And if you want help figuring out what that looks like, I’m always happy to talk through it.

A rebrand shouldn’t create confusion. It should create clarity.

When I decided to pivot from Clements Design to Pivvot Branding, it wasn’t about starting over. It was about aligning the brand with the level of work I’ve been doing for years and the direction my studio has been moving.

The name Pivvot came from a pattern I kept seeing—not just in small businesses, but in corporate and technical teams as well.

When a company brings on an outside designer, that’s a pivot. It’s a deliberate shift in direction. It’s recognizing that internal bandwidth or expertise isn’t enough for where they want to go next.

Those moments are where I do my best work.

Businesses were coming to me at critical turning points: when their identity needed clarity, when their messaging needed focus, and when their design systems needed to scale. And somewhere in the middle of supporting all those pivots, I realized my own name and branding no longer reflected the type of work I was delivering.

So the new name reflects the reality: I help companies pivot with intention.

And no, the double-V isn’t a typo. It’s the pivot point built directly into the identity.

Every part of this brand was created the same way I approach client work—strategically. From the structure of the name to the color palette to the tone of voice, Pivvot Branding needed to match the demands of the teams I support and the level of clarity I expect from any brand.

This wasn’t an overnight rebrand. It was the moment I realized my studio already was Pivvot. The name simply needed to catch up.

Because even brand designers need to pivot.

After three years of running my studio full-time, something became very clear: my business had outgrown its name.

I’ve spent these last few years helping businesses sharpen their identity, clarify their message, and build design systems that actually support growth. And somewhere in the middle of that work, I realized my own branding no longer matched the direction I was headed.

So I took my own advice and made a pivot.

Today—fittingly on Small Business Saturday—I’m officially launching Pivvot Branding.

And yes, the two V’s are intentional. It’s a built-in pivot point and a reminder that even strong brands sometimes need a change in direction.

Pivvot Branding is everything I’ve built my business on: clarity, intention, and design that works in the real world. But now the studio has an identity and streamlined services that reflect it and gives me the space to grow.

My original site will stay as my personal portfolio, but the studio itself finally has a name and brand that match the level of work I do and the clients I support.

If you’re looking to support a small business today—or if your business is ready for strategic, functional design—Pivvot Branding is officially open.

That career fair last week must have stuck with me because I’ve been thinking a lot about the questions I was asked. One of the questions that had me reflecting on the past was “How did you get into this field?”

The truth is, my path to graphic design wasn’t a straight line. I actually started in interior design — dreaming of my own HGTV show and spending hours playing The Sims just to design houses. But once I got into the field, I realized it wasn’t the right fit.

When I transferred to WSU, I discovered graphic design and instantly knew it was where I belonged. It let me use my creativity in a practical way that helps businesses bring their ideas to life.

It’s funny how the plan you didn’t make ends up being the one that fits best.

How did you find your way into your profession?
