If you’ve ever worked with a small business, you already know:
Your job title is just the starting point.

Let me tell you something… working with a small business is not for the weak. 🥵

When you step in, you’re not just doing what’s on your job title.

You’re stepping up.

You’ll wear a few hats..maybe even build a few from scratch.
You’ll take on things that don’t quite fit your job description and somehow… still get it done.

Because working in a small business means being resourceful, fast on your feet, and a little bit scrappy.

It means thinking, solving, and creating all at once and doing it with PURPOSE.

When you’ve worked with small businesses long enough, you don’t just do one thing
you become the thing that keeps that part of the engine going.

You learn how every piece connects,
how to jump in when something slips,
and how to keep things running even when the blueprint changes mid-project.

Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not about doing it all..
it’s about knowing how to make what matters work.

This season, I’m reminding myself (and you) to tap into every part of yourself that knows how to figure it out.

Know how you learn.
Build systems that actually support you.
And stop accepting anything that doesn’t align with your purpose, no matter how “good” it looks on paper.

Video is me tapping into another skill to help my mom with her event needs. 😅

So funny my photography professor called my work “janky” SMH. That hurt my little heart back then. Now, I’m glad she said it, it pushed me to go HARDER.

6 years later I’m getting paid to do what I love.

Haters gon hate.

My brother was my main subject for most of my projects and still is. Lol He was available and always down to do artsy stuff. Lol 😂 Swipe to see the comic strip I made with the photos I took of him. I still think these pictures are dope.

Would you believe me if I said I edit these images all on my phone?

So I challenged myself to use only mobile apps to edit these select photos. It was super challenging but worth it. I’m happy with the results. I used to composite and to retouch.

Just wait.. more to come from this shoot.

Okay, hear me out sis..

I know you want to push out all this content and stay consistent. That’s all good and stuff but, have you figured out your content strategy?

Your content strategy is all about the creation, planning, delivery, and monitoring of your content. A content marketing strategy doesn’t just imply creating ton of content, but also ensuring the value of your content.
I’m not saying to overthink it but, once you start producing the best content and your potential customers engage with it and buy from you, you’ll understand why this is a more valuable approach.

Here are a 5 tips:

✨1. Define Your Goals - Know what you want your customer to do with your content.
Just ask yourself. Do you want to create brand awareness, generate leads, convert users, sign up for a newsletter, attract past customers, improve search results, or whatever. Define that first.

✨2. Research Your Audience

Who is your target audience? What do they want to see from you. Where do they search for things? Where else are they searching it? Google analytics And Insights helps with this a lot. Try looking at your competitiors followers and analyze their behavior.

✨3. Focus on Your Niche

It’s okay to follow trends, but make it you. Just keep in mind, the more you focus on your niche, the greater chances of establishing yourself as an expert in your field. It’s like that saying “jack of all trades, but master at none.”

✨4. Measure Your Results

Are you getting what you want out of your content? Meaning don’t just post without looking at results. Understand your insights and what their trying to say to you.

✨5. Listen to Your Customers

Posting content without actually analyzing your customer’s feedback is like asking to having a phone conversation on mute. Stop making excuses and ask them for feedback and suggestions. Actually listen.

Just remember everything is trial and error. Try it out! If it doesn’t work, it’s okay to go back to the drawing board. Just keep going and take note!
