3. The locals who badmouth other local businesses generally don’t know the cost of running business.

2 is false, and if that offends you, YOU are the problem.

Point 3. Business owners already have a ton to deal with: production, gathering supplies, staff, trainings, overhead, taxes, distribution, utilities, POS systems; all of this BEFORE they consider getting outside help (design, artwork, marketing-yes even us too). But each thing mentioned is a cost that has to be carefully calculated, otherwise even your favorite local business starts to suffer.

Point 1. We get it, it’s not personal and you have our respect. Good on you for taking it upon yourself. That being said… its effectiveness for your business is only as much as your creativity… seriously, if we see one more landscaper/serviceman/junk hauler say- come on just check the photos, slap anyone’s label on there and there you go…

Sigh… look we wanna help you. It’s not even about the money at this point… we just hate YOUR Ai slop.

If you’re a business owner but don’t know the difference, this could save you on marketing dollars.

Let’s be honest with each other: ANYBODY can use chatGPT now. It’s an awesome thing for businesses to use, especially if you aren’t creative or have a marketing budget.

The part where it becomes “slop” though is when you have NO IDEA HOW TO PROMPT IT. Yknow what we mean…

You ask the AI to make you a Facebook post based on your business and then you get things like what’s in this picture here.

Even worse, you can slap any competitors logo on there and no one will bat an eye because they all sound alike.

1. Say what you actually do.
2. Cut every word that slows understanding.
3. Rewrite it how a real person would say it.

That’s it.

It looks like:

Flashy language - STOP MAKING PUNS or trying to be clever.
Overcomplicated messaging with vague promises. - "We pride ourselves on integrity... etc."

But quiet doesn’t mean nothing’s happening. It usually means we’re locked in working on something that actually matters.
